I bought it for "trashy women" but ended up loving all the songs, even those I hadn't heard before. It's a nice collection of songs by a great country band. Read more

Album Notes
Confederate Railroad: Danny Shirley, Michael Lamb (vocals, guitar); Chris McDaniel (vocals, keyboards); Gates Nichols (vocals, steel guitar); Wayne Secrest (bass); Mark DuFresne (drums).Additional personnel: Brent Rowan, Don Potter, Billy Joe Walker, Jr. (guitar); "Cowboy" Eddie Long (steel guitar); Barry Beckett (keyboards); Michael Rhodes, Bob Wray (bass); Eddie Bayers (drums); Dennis Wilson, Curtis Young, Harry Stinson, Suzi Ragsdale (background vocals). In the early '90s, Confederate Railroad, who previously served as backing band for David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck, carried the torch of outlaw country (with a touch of Southern rock) into an era defined by slick commercialism. Their rough-hewn sound and bad-boy attitude, typified by hits like "Trashy Women" and "Time Off for Bad Behavior," were a breath of fresh air when their 1992 self-titled debut arrived. There must have been plenty of people waiting for deliverance from Nashville slickness, as the album notched six hit singles and went multi-platinum. ~ Jim Allen

Not Their Best But Good

Created: 08/08/08
If you haven't heard Conferate Railroad and enjoy County Rock genre, then you're in for a nice treat... this band is that polished. However, if you are purchasing just one of their endeavors, IMHO you could better spend you money by selecting either their "The Essentials" or their "Rockin' Country Party Pack" CD's with the "Rockin' Country Party Pack" CD being my ultimate choice. It is far superior.

I have always loved Confederate Railroad. And those older bands are sometimes hard to find. Southern Rock! Gotta love it!
