Courageous (DVD, 2012)

This is well done quality movie. I believe it will give the viewer a refreshed way of looking at life...and getting you to step outside selfish ways and start to see that you have the ability to positively affect those around you. I am going through some difficult issues within my marriage right now. My wife and I watched this together. It provided a nice break from concentrating on our issues...when nothing else worked. What the movie pointed out to me, among other good insights, was that each day we have the ability to do something different, something more positive, something in a way you did NOT do the day before. The past is real, it happened, but it does not have to define you today.

I am mid-40's, believe in God, and have many flaws and dealing with an imperfect life, I love my family and my wife. I think that sentence is important to this review...give the reader a little background on me as a person. Most of the time the script and acting is of good quality. I like the fact that no major stars are in this movie. I find it refreshing to watch a movie without big stars in them...lets me focus just on the story line. There is one noteable exception....the dinner scene between a dad and daughter. I understand the INTENT, but the whole scene is just to unbelievable to me. Oh, I wish a conversation like that could take place between a dad and a daughter so quickly on the heels of the dad being firmly against a boyfriend...but it just could not happen. I felt the director tried to put too much in this film with that scene...it is the only scene that, in my opinion, should have been left out of the movie.

I hope you found this review to be helpful to you. I would encourage you to watch this movie...certainly worth 2 hours of your life.

WELL, SHERWOOD PICS HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! THIS FILM IS EXCELLENT! THEY JUST KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER! EACH FILM THAT THEY HAVE MADE HAS A RECURRING THEME AND THIS ONE IS NO DIFFERENT. IT IS GOD'S MANDATE FOR THE HUSBAND AND FATHER OF THE HOUSE TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP FOR HIS FAMILY. TOO MANY FATHERS OPT OUT OF THIS AND CONSEQUENTLY OUR FAMILY UNITS ARE NOWHERE NEAR WHAT GOD WANTS OR INTENDED THEM TO BE!AFTER SEEING THIS FILM, I (AS A MOTHER) FEEL THAT I CAN DO MORE TO HELP AND GUIDE MY CHILDREN (EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE GROWN). WE ALL NEED (FATHERS AND MOTHERS BOTH) NEED TO PUT MORE TIME INTO MAKING THEIR FAMILIES COMPLETE UNITS. WE HAVE, FOR TOO LONG, DONE WHAT MAKES US (AS A PERSON) FEEL GOOD AND NOT WHAT WOULD BE BEST FOR OUR FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND COUNTRY. IT'S TIME FOR LESS OF SELF AND MORE FOR OTHERS. WE NEED TO START THINKING OF WHAT WE CAN DO FOR THOSE AROUND US INSTEAD OF FOR OURSELVES. I WOULD THINK THAT THIS FILM IS A MUST-SEE FOR ANYONE WHO WOULD WANT A FUNCTIONAL FAMILY UNIT.

Every young man would be wise to watch this movie. Today's "reality" shows encourage young men to remain or become nothing more than large, undisciplined, childish boys. Courageous shows what it is like to be a MAN - one who is not ashamed to look in the mirror; one who knows from where his real strength comes. By the time men become fathers too many have made mistakes they wish they could undo. I would encourage teenagers to watch it so that they would be challenged to avoid mistakes instead of spending a life filled with regret.

all these movies from the kendrick brothers out of albany georgia are all regilious base movies that everyone needs to watch more they each have a moral lesson to each movie the first movie is FLYWHEEL,THE SECOND MOVIE IS FACING THE THE GIANTS,THE THIRD MOVIE IS FIREPROOF AND THE LAST ONE TO COME OUT IS COURAGEOUS.....ALL YOUR FAMILIES NEED TO WATCH EACH AND EVERY ONE TEACHES PEOPLE TO PUT THEIR TRUST BACK INTO GOD AND BE HONEST IN EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE......FLYWHEEL TEACHES YOU ABOUT HONESTY,,, FACING THE GIANTS TEACHES YOU ABOUT TURNING YOUR TRUST TO GOD AND DO WHAT HE WANTS AND NOT WHAT YOU WANT,,,,,FIREPROOF IS A GREAT MOVIE THAT ALL COUPLES NEED TO WATCH TEACHES HOW TO TREAT YOUR SPOUSE AND NOT TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED,,,THE LAST MOVIE COURAGEOUS TEACHES FATHERS WHAT THEY NEED TO DO AND BE THE HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD AND HOW TO HELP RAISE YOUR KIDS....

These movies keep getting better and better, Fly Wheel, Fire Proof and now CourageouS! Every family is touched in some way with each of these characters. What a joy for Men, Dads, Granddads to realize how very important their role of head of household really is. We are having our Sons and Grandsons watch this very mind opening challenge from God.
