X-Fi Extreem Music

I like the quality of sound it produces. Setup is easy. The music player has a button that will open the library so you can select from different lists, librarys, or individual tracks. Unfortunetly the only other adjustment on the music player is the volume. If you want to make any other adjustments, you have to open another application because Creative didn't create a button on the music player to open this for you. One thing I don't like is when a song is ending and it fades away the sound gets distorted. If you buy this sound card wou will happy you did, it has a huge selection of fine adjustments that produce wonderful sound.

Creative sound cards are hyped!
Created: 24/04/11
This and other SB sound cards have tons of functions... but are rendered useless by Creative's lack of software support especially in Windows 7.
It took me 5 billion years to have this card work in Windows 7 - and only because I got lucky.
It's all hype - nothing but hot air! I'm not buying another Creative product again... ever!

I Like the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Music Sound Card
Created: 26/10/09
This is a good sound card that never gives me a problem. It has a graphic equalizer program where I can tune my speakers to my liking. My computer works like a juke box and this sound card is a big part of it. It also works good for gaming and when working, it handles the standard beeps and boops of the Windows XP operating system with no problems.
The gold plating on the card mounting has small icons that are hard to read. It is good to keep the install sheet handy for identifying the ports. They are marked with icons, but are very hard to read. It comes with a sticker for identifying the jacks, but it is hard to read as well. The gold plating looks good, but it hard to see. I have to get down under the desk with a flashlight.

works with windows 7

Just want to add that this works fine with windows 7.....not sure what the injun_idiot is talking about. Works fine for me!
This is the budget gaming or music card to get. Has REAL X-fi ram on it, and actually helps your fps in games. Sound very good, even with crappy speakers. Make sure you get the SB0460 model!

This is a very good card at a very good price. It is close to perfect if what you are looking for is a stereo or surround sound four speaker. 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, and 7.1 are configarable.
The S/W and screens are a little confusing at first for balancing the speakers but full capability is incorporated.
