Crysis 2 (PC, 2011)

I really enjoyed playing the first Crysis game, that I still go back to it. So when Crysis 2 came out I was anxious to try it out. Like everyone else I was impressed by overall appearance of the game's graphics. The interface is much more polished and well designed. Game play is challenging because not only do you have to battle human enemies but aliens as well. You better have your game on when it comes to taking down armored alien soldiers, headshots are a must! I like the introduction of the nano-suit upgrades. For every alien you terminate (The big alien soldiers pay out a lot) you collect points. When you have enough points you can upgrade the nano-suit's powers. AI level for your enemies are okay, however there are few times in the game when I shot at an enemy they went into a rapid flickering motion. There are few glitches from time to time but not enough to become annoying. I was disappointed when it comes to going stealth, you cannot go prone to the ground to hide like in the first game. I would have to find somewhere fast to hide in order to crotch of out sight to switch out of stealth mode to regenerate the suit's energy level. In the first game you could go prone hide in low laying vines/bushes and you were safe. There are many weapons for Alcatraz to use, makes for interesting and exciting kill shots trying out all these new weapon loadouts.
If you want to enjoy the full potential of this game you must download their DX11 upgrade patch. However you must have a gaming rig capable of running the game at ULTRA or EXTREME to really see the difference this patch does to the game.
The game play is linear but the field is wide and you have many approaches to get from each check point, great replay value. Speaking of game saves, unlike the first Crysis you can no longer press F5 saving your exact progress in the game. Every time you get killed you start at the last checkpoint you reached, and that includes quitting the game too.
Overall I think Crysis 2 is an awesome game, better than the first. I would recommend to all FPS gamers.

This game is truly amazing. It is the sequel to the original mind-blowing Crysis game. The graphics are stunning when combined with the incredible sound and game style. The nano suit bring a whole new combat style into the world of fps shooters.

If you like shooters, and are up for a challenge, play this game on its hardest difficulty. The AI is sure to make you work hard, you might not be able to finish it. The online multiplayer is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had with an fps online shooter, as it combines the best of everything (graphics, sound, game style, community, weapons and 'feel'. Go buy it, you'll enjoy it. (but have a good computer at hand, since to max this beauty out, you'll need some serious graphics card power. I myself have a GTX 470 on a 3D 1080p screen).

If you like first person shooter games prepare to love first person shooter games. I would recommend this for any one who has a system of at least A dual core processor and a graphics card with some real horse power.After you start this game you should prepare to lose day's at a time immersed in incredible graphics and mind blowing game play.

I do not see any justifications for the hi ratings
I attempted playing on easy-play and found too difficult as way too many ncps appear repeatily with heavy firepower,while you are floating arbout as someone drunk and in a fire-fight. The nano-suit, options for armor protection and stealth are about useless in limited time durations. There are no power-ups or health kits leaving you to wait out extremely slow regeneration. Fully expect to be killed about 40 times in each segment requiring to replay over and over and over again from the last check-point. Game became so frustrating with no quick saves, and floaty controls I finally unloaded it and busted the CD to pieces with my hammer! what a waste of $60. for a b-grade game.
Given there are gamers able toplay no doubt on extreme difficult settings, but that does not excuse a game being near impossible on easy settings.
1st the game does not have any quick saves only saves at checkpoints
2nd the mouse controls are semi-floaty so your character will be floating into all sorts of obstacles like a drunken sailor including the aiming of your weapon floaty and without precision making very frustratinf game play.
