Movie synopsis
An adaptation of a novel by Danielle Steel, THE RING features her trademark combination of epic melodrama and romance set against the backdrop of terrible historic events. In the days of Hitler's Germany, Ariana von Gotthard (Nastassja Kinski) is a young woman who finds herself in grave danger after the suicide of her mother and the disappearance of her father and brother. Luckily she meets a young officer who falls in love with her and takes her as his wife. But during the chaos of the last days of the war, he is killed, leaving Ariana alone once more. With only her mother's ring to remind her of her family, she emigrates to the United States in the hopes of finding her father and brother, only to find a new love and possibility, finally, for happiness.

) This is a two disc set that is worth watching. It is about two children, a bother and sister who are separated by the World War II. It tells about the hardship that the two encounter. It is more centered around the sister. Arianna is the sister. It tells about how she suffered from her separation of her family, put in a German prison by the Gestapo, where she is abused and then rescued by a German soldier. It in details her trip to America, the lengths she went to protect her child, and having her father's body recovered and buried in their family plot. The movie spans 25+ years. The ring, is a family heirloom that she was given by her mother who committed suicide when she was a young girl. The ring helped her to be reunited with her family after so many years.

Up until I saw this movie Gone with the Wind was my favorite movie. The Ring by Danielle Steel is absolutely fantastic! From the opening clear through to the end you don't want to miss a minute. Everytime I saw that this was going to be on Lifetime I made sure that my work was done so I could sit down and watch it. Then I finally bought the VHS of it. Now I've bought the DVD. Money well spent. If you love a great love story full of action this is for you.

Danielle Steel's "The Ring"

I love Danielle Steel books and movies. I am very interested in stories set in the time of World War 11. I liked the actors and the way they portrayed their characters. The reason I bought it was because I had seen it several years ago and I remembered how much I had enjoyed it. I enjoyed it just as much the second and third time I watched it. I wish there would be a sequel to it.

this is an excellent movie. a true love story from the past and future. it keeps you glued to the screen the whole movie. recommend to any woman who loves a great romance/drama movie..
