Movie synopsis
Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) is a young, cocky hotshot with little stock car driving experience and a lot of raw talent. Trickle's uncanny ability to make all the right moves on the racetrack wins him the backing of Tim Dolan (Randy Quaid), who wants to put him in a car. Eventually he wins the support of grizzled former driver Harry Hogge (Robert Duvall), a NASCAR legend who sees that Trickle has the potential to be a great driver. Determined to make it to the top, Trickle develops a healthy rivalry with veteran racer Rowdy Burns (Michael Rooker). Along the way, he romances Dr. Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman), a beautiful neurosurgeon. Hogge's mentoring (and a potential tragedy) leads Trickle through the dramatic process of self-discovery, which ultimately makes him a better driver. Directed by Tony Scott, DAYS OF THUNDER is reminiscent of his TOP GUN, the film that rocketed Cruise to stardom. Scott uses spectacular driving and racing scenes in this film, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound.

) Days of Thunder is the story of Cole Trickle, a talented, but cocky driver. this movie is from Tom Cruise's glory days, and heavily reminiscent of Top Gun. The same themes apply in this movie, especially in regards to the love story, and it works well. This is one of Tom and Nicole's best movies; one that you are sure to love whether you are a NASCAR fan or not. This is one of those movies that you can relate to and leave you feeling satisfied at the end. This is definitely one to add to your movie collection!

Really Good Movie!!

) This movie is still really good for it age. Tom Cruise at his best. Great acting. Good story. Has just the right amount of racing scenes( not too much, not too little). A must see if you like Tom Cruise, racing or just a good movie.
Good story, great music, good movie!

This is one of those movies that for some reason I'm always drawn to whenever it's on cable. It's nothing new really-- basically Top Guns on wheels-- but I still like it. What makes it so good is the music. Hans Zimmer wrote an awesome score and it's his best. He's written scores for several Academy Award nominated films but oddly enough his best work can be found here. So combine this with the great visuals and a pretty good, though unoriginal, story, you have a pretty entertaining film.

This is one of the best movies Tom Cruise has ever made. Would recommend to anyone. If anyone tells you not to purchase this movie they are crazy. GREAT GREAT GREAT. Even better with good surround sound behind it. MUST BUY. This movie is cheap, so don't let this opportunity pass you by.
