A different side of Brittany Murphy
Created: 01/12/09
Brittany Murphy is Alice in this 2009 DVD written and directed by Sean McConville.
After having a breakdown, Alice flees to an out of the way Victorian house where she attempts to complete a screenplay. Unfortunately strange things begin to happens soon after her arrival and this causes her to have 'writers block'. Her inability to write and the unexplained happenings cause her to begin to question her grasp on reality.
The movie is perhaps not the greatest ever made but it does have some appeal to it. And after watching Murphy in roles like Uptown Girls, and Little Black Book it is difficult to see her in this more sinister performance without picturing her in those characters.
The other performances were actually more suited for her acting style, but she does a good enough job in this movie.
Perhaps rent this one instead of buying it.
