AWESOME

Created: 20/05/10
I wasnt so sure when I started buying this older game if it would live up to the standards my kid memory told me but this is still an AWESOME game. It's challenging, in ways more so than current system video games. The first levels start off so easy and by the 5th to 7th world you're sweating to get cerain special goals and bonus level objectives. The bosses are basic but due to the constraints of an older game are still made challenging. I promise you'll love this title just like when you were a kid or for newcomers, it's still an excellent buy.

As a game, this is the perfect purchase. It is extremely expansive, the graphics were good(considered good at the time), the music and scenery is immersive, and the "story" is even enjoyable (insofar as returning characters and jokes become endearing). There is a two player mode (which is not as good as one player, but acceptable. It's no golden eye), and several awesome mini-games, such as the FULL jetpack game and the full original Donkey Kong (they must be unlocked), as well as many other more silly collectables.

If you let it, this game could devour your time, and you would be left with no regrets.

On a stylistic level, however, this is not as endearing as Mario 64 because the DK characters are newer and many are created specifically for the game, to a large degree, which makes it feel a little less epic. I would still suggest Mario 64 as the better "classic" game to get, especially since more people shared the experience. On the other hand, this is much larger and more beautiful in many objective ways, and this game you CAN'T play on nintendo DS.

DK's Epic!!!

Created: 29/09/06
DK gets his very own 3D adventure in Donkey Kong 64. The game is hard to find and costly since it requires an expansion pak to play. But it is a lot of fun. You can play as several different characters all with special skills required to collect bananas and special items. Diddy is really cool because he has a jet pack. Get used to climbing trees. Controls are just a little off and not as sharp as I would like them to be. But so was Mario 64. I don't notice a big difference in the graphics due to the expansion pak but the worlds are pretty large compared to other games except for maybe Legend of Zelda. All in all this game is a true gem and worthy of any fans collection. Don't expect Banjo Kazooie greatness though. Just think Mario 64 with bananas. 4/5

awesome game!

The game is really fun... I love playing it with my girlfriend. It gives us non-stop fun. The only downside is that the adventure mode (main game) is only one player, so you have to take turns, although there is a "battle" mode which is two players and is very fun. The game requires "expansion pack" to play which is about 20-30$... sometimes the game comes with it, it depends, mine didn't!

Overall good purchase, great game.

It's one of the best games on the 64 system. Cool graphics! Lots of special worlds to find. You get to play with all five kongs in this game and get special powers for each one of them. You will enjoy this game.
