Movie synopsis
Director Kurt Wimmer (ULTRAVIOLET) injects style into this sci-fi/action film that channels the visual energy of THE MATRIX and invokes the politics of BRAVE NEW WORLD. In a futuristic society where the government requires citizens to stay tranquil and submissive by taking a psychological drug, people no longer have emotions. Because of this, there are no more wars, but there is also no literature, music, or art of any kind. But when an enforcement agent (Christian Bale, THE DARK KNIGHT) realizes that peaceful oblivion may not be the answer, he thinks about overthrowing his oppressors. EQUILIBRIUM’s cast also includes Sean Bean (THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING), Taye Diggs (CHICAGO), William Fichtner (PRISON BREAK), and Emily Watson (RED DRAGON)., In a futuristic society where the government requires the people to stay tranquil and submissive by taking a psychological drug, people no longer have emotions. ) I really loved this movie being that I'm an action buff and a sociologist. I recently went to look for my copy and couldn't find it, most likely let someone borrow it and never got it back. The only complaint i have for the blu-ray is that the picture was so clear that some of the action scenes looked completely fake. I don't ever remember thinking that when watching the normal DVD but the scenes were much darker. Other than that i love this movie!!! Just wish i didn't get the blu-ray.

this is a great movie, blows the matrix outta the water. one of my favorites and made Christian Bale one of my favorite actors. Great movie buy it if you see it :)

I bought a blue ray disc two weeks ago and I was immediately disapointed with the sound, a DVD has better sound than a blue ray this is the second time i bougth a remake DVD in to a Blue ray and the sound is very lousy, the pictures are ok but not perfect like original b

) Love the action,fighting,and story line about the future. But they need to make part 2 so we can find out what happens next with the story. But overall it was a great film great actors and great effects. I give it a 5 star rating i strongly recommend this movie to anyone..
