Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx Handheld GPS Receiver

I own several garmin gps devices. This one is one of the most capable units I have used. For several years this has been the standard by which other hadnheld gps units have been judged. It still is one of the best.
Pros
accurate, durable, screen is easy to read in daylight, screen size is nice and very readable, great features for hiking biking or about any outdoor activity you would need a gps for.

cons
screen is somewhat low resolution and the backlight is not as bright as the etrex hcx units, a little bulky compared to etrex hcx, processor is adequate for auto routing but a little slow by current standards.

Overall if you want an excellent gps with almost every feature you could ask for this unit will not disappoint.

Overall this is really a great GPS, especially for the price. The display is clear, and though the graphics are way better than adequate, they are becoming dated. I use my unit for geocaching. It works very well for this. Be prepared, however. The manual isn't clear on the processes necessary for downloading all the software and plug-ins you'll need to actually make this thing more than just a fancy paperweight. Once you get the hang of it, it's no sweat. Garmin's website and customer service reps are your best friends until then.

This unit is hands down the best handheld out there. It is very accurate, has very fast satellite acquisition, very easy to use, well sized display, audible alerts are easy to hear, durable, great for geocaching, great battery life. I can't really say anything bad about this awesome gps. I highly recommend this great unit to anyone who is looking to buy a great gps.

The 60CSx is a big step forward from the 60CS. Better satellite reception, good features and good for geocaching. This would not be my first choice for in vehicle routing although it does work OK, units designed for that work better. For on the trail, this is a great unit at a great price.

this looks like it will be a good gps unit, it did not come with a manual so am not sure how it totaly works. tried to communicate with seller about issue, he did not help with it so am trying to figure it out on internet, am hopeing that this one will have a good satellite signal compared to the e-trax one that i have that keeps loosing the signal which does no good if you are counting on it to get you back to where you started and not lost.will see. did some research about them and will not know till i start to try to use it.
