Movie synopsis
“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is a thriller based on the novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson. The DVD follows the path of a Swedish journalist as he is drawn into investigating a decades-old murder. Along with the help of a hacker, the journalist proceeds to dig through past and stirs up histories best left forgotten. The thriller stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara as the journalist and hacker, respectively. “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is notable for having received an Academy Award. This DVD runs at approximately 158 minutes. The film incorporates a range of different themes from crime, to feminism, to the bounds of the self. Each theme provides both an ode to the source material and gives the film its own particular air. The combination of elements allows the film to be viewed by people unfamiliar with the book without feeling lost. “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” provides viewers with a glimpse into a world in which shadows sometimes turn up where people least want them to do so.

Of course, I am a fan having read all three books, seen this movie at the theater and just bought all three Swedish releases a couple of days ago. Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer and Skarsgard were all great, as were other actors.
I don't usually watch movies or read books more than once; however, I plan to with these.
A very mature movie; not for prudes (Banned in India--their loss).
Like a realistic James Bond type of movie; not the boring repetitive pablum those movies became.
If I lost this movie, I would have to buy another copy. Even my friends who saw it with me at the movies wanted to see it again, you just don't get all you want from the first time. Many of the scenes are so good you just want to see them again to catch more of the nuances of the the scenes and the acting.
The first movie I have seen in awhile with some meat to it; the books too.
I was so bored with the first Lord of the Rings movie I wished at the time that I had left after the first hour, nothing new was forthcoming in the second, long, long hour. It was like watching someone play a Mario game; I even predicted in my mind several scenes, like, I'll bet they will be going through a cave next, or through the snow, or down a long river, and another attack by the same guys.......I wished for my money back from that one. I never bothered with the sequels, though I heard they were much better. I felt the same about the Twilight series, and I love True Blood and vampire themes generally. I had really liked Kristen Stewart's earlier movies and feel sad for her, though I am sure she is making big bucks for it.
By comparison The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo had some real mystery to it and some real plot twists and real surprises. Notice the word "real" as opposed to boring and contrived.
While, maybe not earth shaking, at least interesting.

Dragon Tattoo Movie Doesn't Disappoint

) I had read the book so I was eager to see it depicted on screen. I watched it on my laptop so I could pause it and see the minute details. The movie sticks pretty closely to the original story, other than the ending. I appreciated the twist at the end. Mara Rooney does an incredible job portraying Lisbeth. I made my husband watch it with me a second time. He even enjoyed it, and he is primarily a sports fanatic!
A suspenseful movie! Worth watching over and over again. I will!

) This is one of my favorite movies. The plot twists are amazing and the characters are well-written. It is not an "action" movie, but the suspense will keep you riveted to your seat. I would recommended this movie to anyone who enjoys a good mystery-thriller!

Great Movie!!! Most movies made after a book don't compare but the actors in this film did an excellent job!!!
