Movie synopsis
Adapted from Kaysen's popular memoir, GIRL, INTERRUPTED is handled with extreme sensitivity by director James Mangold (HEAVY, COPLAND). Winona Ryder stars as Susana, a troubled teenager whose confused attempt at suicide lands her in a mental hospital. Once there, she meets an odd assortment of characters, including Lisa (Angelina Jolie), who at first mesmerizes Susana with her uninhibited demeanor. The pair form a tight bond, but that connection is threatened when Lisa begins to spiral even further out of control. Ryder and Jolie's intense performances are just one of many reasons to watch this picture.

) On the one hand, this is another movie about what's wrong with our behavior health care system. On the other hand, the performances of Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie show us the extremes of behavior that take place in mental institutions. It made me realize that destructive behavior derives from an unwillingness to accept and move past the feelings we have about our past and present life. This is a great story with great acting!

) I had seen this movie when it was first released and it was advertised as a Winona Ryder film but I went because I had seen Angelina Jolie in small "Indie" type films and love her. The entire cast is great and years later friends and I can re-enact the Chicken/Colace scenes. Jolie is spellbinding and viewers are able to get a preview of her outstanding future performances. Wonderful addition to any home collection.

) This is a great movie. Angelina Jolie and Winona Rider give very memerible roles as 2 patients in a mental hospital in the 60's. Britney Murphy also has a great supporting role. I don't want to give any of this moving and touching dark comedy' drama away. Get it if you like any of these actresses and you will not be disapointed with your purchase.

) I liked the intensity of this Movie! I purchased it because I do Love Angelina Jolie as an Actress. I wanted to see her earlier Movies such as this and Gone in 60 Seconds. I would rate this a 10 for drama, real life hardships confused with mental disorders. The 60"s era portrayed in the Movie was very typical and True to the 60"s mentality! Wynoma Ryder ACED her Main Role with a vengeance. Great Movie all around.

This is a great movie , based on a book , based on real life; it really captures the lives of troubled teen girls. Watching Susan Kaysen ( Wiona Ryder ) grow up and work through her issues while in this hospital was very encouraging and inspiring . The narrative is great and the performances of young Wiona Ryder and young Anglie Jolie ( who is incredibly hot by the way ) are outstanding . I highly recommend this movie to anybody .
