I already own one but it wore out after 40,000 pages. I found this particular model to be a very dependable work horse printer that can handle a variety of paper types, exceptional print quality, uses hp 45, 78 cartridges that hold alot of ink and can be refilled to save costs. hp makes the best inkjet printers on the market. The one I bought had only 100 printed pages on it even that it was built in 2002 it was like a new model and should print at least 40,000 prints. I already put on 5,000 after 2 months

) I found one of these printers on the net about 7 years ago and I still use it regularly. The series has about 8 different models. I bought several more for other people and myself. I put some up for later use. I see now the new Windows Vista does not support a lot of older printers and etc. I just bought several and stored them for later use for this reason. They tell you how many pages they have printed from the start and my oldest one has passed 11,000 pages. Most of the others are passed 4,500 pages. This is home use. The cartridges are easy to refill too. This way you save money on ink and you can refill them about 5 or 6 times and sometimes more. If the print is still clear and not streaked, use them again. They come with a smart media card reader and a Compact Flash card reader. They do not have to connected to the pc in order to print from the camera cards either. Some have a duplexing unit on the back that allows two sided printing. All can use it.

A Laptop LPT1 Printing Necessity

) It solved the issue of loosing the USB assigned printer on my laptop. By switching from virtual USB to LPT1 output my print function stabalized. I have been using a hp1115 for yearsand enjoy the large ink supply my current aplication involve a large quantity of print outs so this printer is ideal.
