    Great book to own..

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I haven't read a more entertaining book for a long time. This is truely a treasure as it reminds me of my own family's departure from our homeland. Anh Do reminisces the family members left behind, the culture, language and lifestyle that would never cease to bring sad but fond memories - all the familiar sentiments to new migrants in Australia.

I not only loved this book, but have been recommending it to everyone I know including my book club plus bought it for my dad and my friend for Christmas. It was hilarious and also very inspiring but heart breaking at times. Just a total roller coaster of emotions, but did make me laugh so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks! I love the way Anh writes, it was just a great read.

    Fantastic

I enjoyed this story immensely. I decided to purchase this book as I had enjoyed Ahn Do on the short series, Ahn does Vietnam and also Pictures of you and wanted to know more of his story. It was an incredible story, with laughter, tears and heart warming accounts which just made you fall in love with Ahn a little more. It is so refreshing to hear of a "Australian's" story that has so much gratitute for this country and how he so appreciates what can be achieved in this country. I have read other books with similar content, but found this really easy to read and hard to put down. Highly recommend it.

I purchased this book following the Anh Do does Vietnam series on the television. His biography is a truly inspirational read - what an amazing man! Anh Do has really led a life of 'sliding doors'. His book made me laugh and cry right to the end. Every Australian should read this book.
