Movie Description:
The Sanderson Sisters are 17th century witches who were conjured up by unsuspecting pranksters in present-day Salem. The key to their immortality involves three children and a talking cat, who also turn out to be their biggest obstacles.
Synopsis:
In 1693, the citizens of Salem, Massachusetts go into a frenzy when they discover that 3 among them -- Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson -- are witches. Fearing their pagan villainy, the community agrees to hang the old hags. But head sorceress Winifred vows they'll come back to life one day and seek vengeance.

300 years later, Max, a cynical teenager stuck chaperoning his kid sister as she goes trick-or-treating, is spotted by classmate-dream girl Allison. In order to impress her, Max lures them into the Sanderson sisters' house where they accidentally bring the wretched shrews back to life. The witches now have one night to renew their life force -- or they'll disappear forever. Can the kids stop them from achieving their nasty purposes?

This was a really cute movie. I am 47 years old & have 2 little girls. They loved this movie. It has become one of our favorites to watch over & over.

I saw this movie when I was younger and looked forward to seeing it on television every year thereafter. It's spooky and fun with three funny witches, two of which are Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker. It's not bloody or sexual... it's fun for all kids probably 5 or 6+. Even the grownups enjoy this one. Basic storyline: A teenage boy moves to a new town and thinks a town's old legend is a bunch of hocus pocus, but he gets a witching surprise on halloween night and has to save the kids of Salem from getting charmed into a death trap. Lots of fun setups in the film. I actually like to watch this with my daughter even when its not halloween, and now that we have the movie we can... yay!

What could be better for MAD CAMPY FUN than Bette Midler? Why dress her as a 17th Century Salem witch and give her a Sister Coven of witches in the likes of Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker! PLUS allow them to sucking the life out of little TRICK OR TREATING children and NOW we are talking! :D Bette even graces us with song! That is the treat,the trick if you will is that it is Disney.So nothing to naughty and wicked! ;) So sit back , enjoy and have a devilishly good time!

I actually bought this movie as a replacement,my old one was worn out!This is my kids favorite witch movie! No matter the time of the year, we love to watch this one. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker deliver a fantastic performance as the Sanderson Sisters from Salem, who come back to life after 300 years after a teenage prank goes dreadfully wrong.
There's even a talking cat, 'Binx'. Who is actually a boy cursed and turned into a cat for eternity by the witches.
This a perfect scare for the kiddies,but it does involve dark subject matter, so use your best judgement for the younger ones.

A fun family movie that anyone can truly enjoy young or old! Bette Midler is fantastic and campy as ever. Sarah Jessica Parker manages to hold her own in the midst of such a stage performer, and Kathy Najimy is hilarious! A perfect movie to watch especially around the Halloween season--helps you really get into the mood of witches, magic, trick-o'-treating, costumes, and fun! Recomend this flick to ANYONE who still has that inner child.
