It's Better The Second Time Around,
Created: 27/10/06
This was HILLARIOUS!!! This was far better than the first movie. John Leguizamo was brilliant as usual, the perfect voice for Sid. And it was great having the voice of Queen Latifah as Ray Ramano's love interest. This movie was a comedy-lovers delight. And of course the squirrel, Scrat, was genius from day one. Every scene he's in is like watching a great silent movie. That actually requires a lot of skill on behalf of the storytellers and animators to create scenes without dialogue that are equally as entertaining and engaging as those with dialogue. The latter is one reason why the first "Ice Age" film distinguished itself. So the team at Blue Sky Studios should be congratulated. This is a sharp movie. No sophomore slump. I have the first one on DVD and I can't wait to get this incredible sequel. Everything just seems more developed and elaborated upon this time around. Computer-animated films were still in their infancy when the first film got released. But the technological progress that has been made since then is obvious and it's been put to good use throughout the movie. I really enjoyed "Ice Age 2." So if you were a fan of the first one, then don't forget to get the sequel when it hits stores this November.

Scrat Does It Again!
Created: 09/12/06
This movie wasn't as good as the first one. It lacked something in the storyline, it wasn't as strong as the first movie. Scrat (the squirrel) really made this movie though. He was a lot funnier than in the first one, it helps that they show him more.
The story starts out with Sid, Manny, and Diego. They soon find out that their ice world is melting and if they don't move to higher ground they'll soon be under water as well. On their new migration Manny finds another mammoth who thinks she is a possum. He then spends his time trying to convince her that she's a mammoth, of course they both think the other is crazy. I won't spoil the ending for those who haven't seen it, but you will definitely enjoy this movie if you liked the first one.

One Of The Few Sequels That Live Up To The First
Created: 06/04/07
There's not much to say about this movie. It was a really great movie. Not often do you see a sequel to a movie, let alone an animated movie (2nd to Toy Story of course) that will get as many laughs out of you as the first one. Honestly I think the 2nd Ice Age movie probably got a few more of my chuckles under its belt. One of the best parts if for nothing else, is the fact that they brought back ALL the original voices. That and Scrat the squirell looking thing chasing his nut around. I'm sure most parents who saw and had their kids see Ice Age will adore Ice Age: The Meltdown as well if they haven't already. And if you haven't bought it yet...you should check out around eBay and get it because it's something that's worth watching again and again every so often.

Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006, DVD)
Created: 07/01/07
I decided to buy this DVD because I really liked the
first one. Unfortunately I automatically assumed it would
be tailored to young viewers and just as good as the first one.
It was neither. I was disappointed to see that it was rated PG-13.
I thought my toddler would enjoy a movie of this type, until I saw
the rating. I think it was misrepresenting in its previews. Also, I
didn't think it had enough substance. I feel that it should have more
to it, or in it. It just left me feeling like it was lacking. Over all
it was one of those movies that you only watch one time.
