Robert Redford stars in Sydney Pollack's 1972 western.
A solitary man tries to survive the wilderness battling
ruthless Indians. This is one of Robert's best and I'm
glad to have it on dvd. It has nice picture and sound,
but no extras. I highly recommend this great western.

Good movie about the early Old West
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
A slow-moving but good film of the early Old West (prior to the Civil War). It is a survival movie which portrays the forces arrayed against a lone mountain man. While there are no bar scenes or gunfights on town streets, it offers views of the toughness of life in a hostile environment against a backdrop of magnificent scenery.
This movie is all about the history of America. It shows just how brutal life was in the western frontier. The west was an area of adventure, hostility, and reality.
I hunt griz. Grizzer bears!
Great movie. What makes a movie for me is the quality of the characters.
In Jeremiah Johnson, you get to see some memorable characters indeed, including Bear Claw, Del Gue, Swan, and also JJ himself.
The story that is told is memorable, and the beautiful scenery, pacing, and score of the movie bring you back for multiple reviews.
I already own this on itunes, but it's going to make an excellent white elephant gift once it's wrapped up with Joe Kidd, this x-mas.
