the Linksys E1000 Wireless Router is great. i got it here on ebay for a great price. Very easy to use. Easy to connect and love how slim it looks. And more so that it looks like its from the future considering the advanced technonogly today lol. but yes, great product. works nice too, very strong signal. Works great in ym home-using the wfif for two computers, four phones and other gagets. great product.

What I found about this router is that it was very easy to setup. 5 mins total and my system was secure even with a guest setting for use. I would and did recommend this router for anyone who is looking for a fast and secure router that is easy to setup.

Had to replace our old router. Found this one, it had a great price and everything I was looking for as far as security.its very streamline and works lightning fast.To buy a similar item in a store such as BestBuy it would be far more expensive.I have been using it for a month now and had no problems at all.Set was simple,it took 5 minutes. And the price was insanely cheap. It came with all the software and cords.I couldn't be happier with the price and performance.

PERFECT FOR MACBOOK USERS!!

I bought this router to replace a Five year old DSL with Wireless router that I got from my neighbor when she went with cable internet. The wireless card on that router was starting to die. I paired this router with the Motorola router that I got from AT+T. And now for the review.
This router is perfect for those of us that love it when the computer does 90% of the work. The other 10% was me changing the router name and password, disabling guest access and finding a spot on/near my desk to place it. I don't know about a windows install as I own a Mac but it was a breeze. Here is how it went. Take it out of the box, plug in power cord and ethernet cord from DSL router. Plug in ethernet cord from wireless router to Macbook and insert install disc. Double click SETUP and watch as Macbook communicates with router and sets itself up. When setup is finished (about 5 to 6 minutes), change wireless router name and password, disable guest access, and copy settings to text file. That's it. That is all that was done to setup this wireless router. Even as I type this I am streaming YouTube vids faster than the router that I got from at+t when I started using DSL. What an Improvement! If you need a Wireless Router and use a MacBook like I do, this is the router for you.

the E1000 is a very decent router for it's price range. Though it's considered by most as a low-end router (often sold in stores really cheap as refirbished), it has good range, produces low heat (rare for this particular design due to the case not having much room inside), and solid throughput rates.
It is capable of some editions of 3rd party firmwares (Tomato, DD-WRT) which add features such as VPN, repeater mode, wireless/lan bridges, and multiple SSID's, however, some of the added features are limited by the routers CPU and amount of flash memory. Multiple SSID's and Repeater functions lower it's range considerably. The router also seems to drop signal if mroe than 3 or 4 devices connect at a time as the CPU can't handle that much.
The stock firmware is very simple to set up, almost plug and go.
For a business environment, I would not recommend this router, but for basic home use where 4 or fewer devices will be connecting through it at a time, it is ideal for it's price.
