My grandchildren and I were reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and wondered about the food. This book has it all. The explanations are fun to read. We have even tried some of the recipes. This book gives you a look back at how people really ate over 100 years ago. If you like the Little House Books this one is a natural extension and will broaden your understanding of times past in America.

I purchased this book to accompany the Prairie Primer, which is a year long Teaching Unit based on the beloved Little House on the Prairie books. As a homeschooling Parent, I was looking for something to span four different grade levels, and meet my children's Educational goals as well as keep their interest. They are aniticipating both preparing and eating a vast majority of the recipes in this cookbook, as we have already browsed through it. I am just thrilled with this purchase!

I love this cookbook because I am fascinated about the era of the pioneers. I have been a fan of Little House on the Prairie show as well as the books. Great recipes.

This cookbook is a great addition to the Little House collection. I'm so happy we ordered it. I like that most of the recipes serve 6. We have 6 in our family, and most cookbooks recipes are for 4. We have only tried a couple of the recipes, but are looking forward to trying more!
