Product Information
Amid chaotic, constantly changing battles of swords and sorcery, players lead their forces in a desperate struggle to save Middle-Earth. Built on EA's Command & Conquer: Generals engine, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth is a real-time strategy game set in the world of the Peter Jackson trilogy, based on the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. It focuses on large-scale warfare instead of individual characters or the quest of the Fellowship, and is designed to re-create the epic battles featured in the three films. Familiar hero characters become available, however, and their powerful influences can turn the tide in a close battle. Four different factions are featured -- the riders of Rohan, the armies of Gondor, the forces of Saruman, and the legions of Sauron -- and each relies on a different type of resource to develop and replenish its forces. The game includes two separate single-player campaigns; one has fans leading the forces of good against the orcs and goblins of Mordor, and the other allows them to guide the forces of evil to claim Middle-Earth for their dark master.

    Great real time game!!

    Created: 13/06/09
The game retains the basic mechanics of real-time strategies. Most normal units have purchaseable upgrades and may also have abilities such as changing formation, changing weapons, combining with other squad types, Ranger stealth and orc cannibalism. Heroes are unique, far more potent units (and Hobbits and Gollum) that lack upgrades but do have multiple, elaborate abilities, and can be purchased back if killed. Most hero abilities require certain experience levels. Good has the advantage in the quantity and quality of heroes; Gandalf at the peak of his strength is an anti-army device. Buildings also gain experience and may become able to build new units, research new upgrades, or bestow better passive bonuses such as a reduction in cavalry build costs.

    Lord Of The Rings

I like that this game is a strategy gme and that the graphics are good for being alittle old. I loved how you can build up your own armys command all your troops and decide how you will plan everything out.You can be a evil leader or be a good leader, which will give you diffrent options on what your going to buy for cammand post and how your troops interact with the enemy. You can decide to do the story mode and go along with the exiting journey or maybe if you wanna have alittle fun you can set up the battle on skirmish mode and have a good time. I can't realy say theres things i don't like about it exept that it can run slow sometimes but i think thats because i chose the low version mode in the setup process by acident, because ive seen videos of it moving alot faster. I decided to buy it because i was in the mood for a good mideival game wit knights and castle and awsome looking creatures. I would have to say this is a very great game and if anyone is looking for a good time you should realy look in to buying this game!

    LOTR:Battle for Middle-earth PC Game

My whole family is a group of top fans of the Lord of the Rings movies. This game fits right in with the story line. It's action-packed,life-like, and has great performance. My nephew (19 yrs.old) is ecstatic about it. He gets spellbound with the story-line and the adventure, challenge, etc. that he could go without sleep just to get lost in that world. He says it's one of his favorite PC games ever!
