Make-A-Mix Cookery by Karine ELIASON 1978

I had purchased my original copy of this book in 1979 and loved using it. In my last relocation move I had a lot of my boxes that went missing. One of the boxes were some of my cook books. My original copy was missing, as I had used the recipes in the book all the time, I memorized a lot of the mixes.
Just recently I knew I wanted to replace this book. I volunteer with a local food pantry and I knew there were other mixes that could be utilized to put together 'breakfast', 'dinner', or 'dessert' kits. That's when I knew that I could go and search on eBay to locate a copy. It only took a short time before I was able to secure a copy!
As to the use of the book, I have always used the mixes in the book, and was able to revisit the other mixes and make life a bit easier. I have also made the mixes to give as gifts writing down recipes and giving the additives for each recipe. It also helps with food storage that our family was brought up doing.
I rely on them more now that my husbands health has changed a lot. I spend a few short hours putting everything together, making sure I have the additives. I am able to pull out a mix either I have on the shelf or in the freezer, I place everything in my foodsaver bags. It makes it easy to have a basic mix to worth with and my teenagers sure do appreciate the ease when I need their help. It has also come in handy when a few extra friends show up and when the weather prevents me to be able to go anywhere, I know I have something to work with.
It is a very useful tool to use in the kitchen, it has more than one use! A great investment and there are cost savings in making your own mix. We need to get back to the basics!
