Married With Children is the best series out there from the 80's and 90's. when I saw that the complete series was available for under $40, I hit the floor! That is an extremely good deal considering there are 261 episodes on 32 discs. That's a little over a dollar a disc.
Plus there is bonus footage included, they have clips of their 25 year reunion on the set of the show. This is an amazing but for those true diehard fans, or someone that's looking to just get into the series. Now I have it at my fingertips, especially since Netflix took it off their roster as of 10/1/2012. This is the only way to watch the show on your terms. How can you say no to Al Bundy, the wife hating shoe salesman that will never trade in his rusty Dodge... Or his wife, Peggy Bundy, the high haired housewife that loves Oprah, Bon-Bons, and hates housework. Then there are their two children, the oldest which is Kelly Bundy, the pretty girl with nothing but air in her head and her choice of suitors to surround her. Finally there's Bud, the typical growing teenage boy exploring with "himself" and striving for a date with anyone, but the poor kid almost always strikes out. These characters, along with their incredibly smart and lazy dog, Buck, bring the whole sitcom together. Nothing would be the same without the two wacky uptight yuppy neighbors that aren't afraid to put in their opinions of the family and get into trouble with them as well.
This series never gets old, I could watch these re-runs over and over again. The only negative thing I would have to mention is that the theme music is not the same as it was when it originally aired. Now it's some orchestra music that tries to be similar to the song "Love And Marriage", but falls extremely short and becomes more annoying than anything else. Thank goodness for the the fast forward button.
Overall, I think this is a great purchase and the Bundys will always have a place in my TV heart ;)

MWC was my absolute favorite tv show from the mid-'80's through the '90's.i had nearly every episode on VHS tape..when DTV had gotten under way,i ditched my outdated S-VHS machine as well as all of my old tapes.i had always wanted a complete collection of the series on DVD,so i could watch it any time i wanted to.
the only thing i don't like about it is that the index sheet is rather brief (1 page in small print) you don't really know which episode is which at first.additionally, the studio had named all of the episodes~so,you might not recognize which it until you watch it for a minute.it's a bit confusing.
this is an excellent box set.i don't regret buying it one bit:) it's an outstanding value.

When I heard that Married With Children was going to be cancelled by FOX after 11 years on the air, I was highly upset. I didn't see the series until the 7th season of the show. I was not interested in watching it at first because I thought it was going to be a boring comedy about married couples. I decided to give it a try. I was so wrong. This show was so funny, I actually hurt myself laughing. After which, I was hooked. It broke all of rules in what a television comedy about families should be. It was done that way on purpose because FOX wanted to attract the 19-49 year olds to the newly-formed network. According to FOX executives, they had to stand out to conmpete with the other three networks.

If you were a child or teen in the 80s...what did you not love about this show? We grew up with The Bundys. Heck...we quoted the show often (How many touchdowns did Al get in that one game in Polk High School again?) This series is awesome and any true fan should own this pronto. Now about the set itself...what is it about the manufacturers nowadays releasing complete series in such cheap packaging? Two spindles of all the discs covered by cardboard in a flimsy plastic container. No episode listing either. Is it really that more expensive to print a 1 or 2 page episode guide? All and all a great buy for fans.

As a fan of the show when it originally aired, I couldn't wait any longer to get the DVDs. It was everything I expected. It has a photo of each Bundy on the inside. It doesn't have the episode list on each disc, just season/disc number. There is a sheet with the list of shows and it crosses to the season/disc number, so it is easy to find the episode you want to watch. There are extra features on some disc's, but I didn't go through them yet.
