The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Complete Collection (DVD, 2010, 4-Disc Set)

The anime is EXCELLENT.
What Bandai did to it, ranks on the criminal.

The Complete Collection is only season one. It contains episodes 1-14.
Not, 1-28 as the review states. Bandai knew there was a second season
(and even used pictures out of it), so why did they call this "Complete"?

These episodes are out of order. Please go to a fan site and get the
proper airing order. It is worth it to really understand the ending.
(which in this product by Bandai, comes in the middle of disk 2 of 4)

Bandai has butchered the ending credits. One of the best dance scenes
in anime, is almost completely cut out. The box says, includes textless
opening and closing credits.. but they only have the butchered ending.

This is really sad. I love this anime, but I feel like returning these
DVDs. I want to support continued importation of anime, but the poor
quality of video, the poor quality of subtitles and everything above
makes me want to figure out how to download a good copy.

My favorite Anime!! It's a really good anime about High School life and the paranormal not scary though. But don't be fooled like I was it only has all the episodes from season one!!These are in English and Japanese But it has a lot of extra footage, mostly in Japanese with English subs. These are behind the scenes footage, commercials and stuff, the original voice cast says HI and stuff. It has 4 dvds in a regular dvd case. Has no episode guide booklet. I got the 2010 edition I don't know the difference between this and the older edition. The episodes are in chronological order except the very first one.

how i pick any anime ..
1) look-up on anime news network for bayesian rating
any of the top 250 -500 are a good bet
2) then look-up on amazon for a little critiquing
but remember amazon reviews are a little skewed
3) then look on utube in which many review videos or best of compilations are for various genres...
when i want something with a better story and more emotion i would lean toward womans/girls reviews..when i want violence action and blood ..then i lean toward boys and mens reviews...
but the Melancholy of haruhi suzimaya had high marks everywhere i looked ..i didnt think i would like it even still because i am 49 year old man (about the high school aspect)...but i was amazed and moved from laughter to tears...would have loved a bit more sci-fi action ..but this series by far is one of the best anime has to offer

this movie or anime dvd is really a great anime it show alot of action and alot of drama ,haruhi is a young girl who believe in magical people such as aliens and etc. she has a group calls the "sos bridge" at first i saw the anime in youtub but i stop at episode 9 beacuse my computer was slow on videos soo i decided to buy the anime since i love it also is in a really good price normally u see them on besy buy or target and they caust bout 50$ but this one is less then 50$ soo is a really awsome price thank you

This anime is very different from the ones I usually watch. But after one episode I was hooked. It is comedy/sci-fi, and totally unique. Its a short series of only about 14 english episodes. The first episode is '00' but it really should be watched after episodes 1-13, otherwise, it doesn't make alot of sence. It is a funny, cazy, whirl-wind adventure that I would recomend to anyone.
