Miken Ultra2 with ASA 2000 stamps
Created: 06/07/10
I bought the earlier model Miken Ultra 2 with the ASA stamps because I thought it would have more pop than the newer models. It's a great line drive bat, the weight is perfect for control of your swing, but this 28 oz older version lacks the pop and power of my newer 30 oz, or even my 27 oz Ultra 2. I'm not sure why. People say that some bats just don't have the bang from the get-go. I guess this is one of those bats. Don't get me wrong, Miken Ultra 2's are still the bat to beat in my book. If they could get the red end-loaded version to not crack so easily I'd get another one of those. (the one I bought new broke in 2 months) My suggestion is to try the bat before you buy it, especially these used bats.

Hottest bat in softball!

The product was purchased for Senior Softball. It is DEFINATELY the hottest bat on the market. The new rating is a 1.21 (vs. the old 1.20) which means much more distance to the hits. The breakin period is virtually nonexistent.Shots were hit over 350ft right out of the wrapper. A must buy for all senior players. The only drawback is the short lifespan, which is usually 1 season. The old Ultra II's with the ASA 2000 stamp were much more long lived. Guess those days are gone. :(

This bat continues to be one of the best composite bats on the market. The break in period is minimal and once it is you can really launch some long shots. The only downside is that eventually it is going to crack and you will have to buy another one. Even though this is a very hot bat, the price has stayed reasonable.
