) Once you get started on the "Miss Julia" series by Ann B. Ross, you just can't stop. "Miss Julia Meets Her Match" is no exception. Miss Julia is a fiesty, southern Presbyterian widow who has just realized how good independence can be since the death of her overpowering unfaithful husband. She has depended on Sam Murdock for so many things, but another marriage may mean giving up what she has just gained. "All" matters happening around her require her attention including building a Holy Land theme park and dealing with her housekeeper's great-ganddaughter. Living in North Carolina, Ann B. Ross has the imagination and ability to write just what a good ole' southern gal, like Miss Julia, has on her mind. Miss Julia reminds me of Jessica Tandy's character in "Driving Miss Daisy." If you need a good laugh, reading this book will keep you in stitches. I would suggest you begin with the first book in the series, "Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind." After that one, you just can't help reading them all.

) If you want real, beloved, characters, that just keep you coming back for more.The Miss Julia books are just the answer.I picked up 3 of the novels at a thrift store.I read the first in the series and was hooked! My search began on ebay and half price books to complete the series. And I was thrilled the Author, Ann B. Ross has a website, and future books coming in the series. I don't want it to end.
The South - good & bad - in a great novel. We Love it!

) Ann B. Ross just knows the South, and she knows how to capture its characters (and, boy, sometimes we ARE characters down here!). I read expressions in here I haven't heard since those old Southern ladies used them in my youth, and it's refreshing! It takes me back! Thanks, Ann for capturing the REAL South!

) Another delightful book in the Miss Julia series, one of my favorite series ever. This book had me erupting in laughter, Ms. Ross's humor is the greatest as well as her characters.
