Strory of Aileen Wuornos Executed John Murderer
Aileen Wuornos (Charlize Theron) and Selby Wall (Christina Ricci) become pseudo-'lesbian' lovers in this true story about a prostitute (Wuornos) who hates and kills six either brutal, married, cheating, or adulterous men between 1989 and 1990.
This show angered me because to call the relationship between Wuornos and Wall lesbian is a false representation of lesbian relationships, in general. The real and show relationship between the two women doesn't resemble the commits made and responsibilities taken in the vast majority of same-gender, long-term woman relationships. That is why I didn't count this portrayal as excellent, even though Charlize Theron delivers a riveting performance of the late 20th century wife beaten, cheated by numerous adulterous 'men', serial killer.
Though Charlize is a raving beauty out of character, in the Wuournos character she was transformed into an atrocious woman who just couldn't cut it in real life society. Though she did try.
Wuournos is repeatedly humiliated as she tries to get honest job after job. She lacks skills and training at every turn and seems dyslexic. Plus, as a violently abused prostitute, she undoubtedly suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. So this rejection and humiliation only heightens her senses of self-worthlessness and compulsive violence.
After her first John (after being with Selby) beats and rapes her, she kills him in self-defense. It comes to her as a shock that she does it. Once she got the sweet taste of revenge she couldn't stop robbing and murdering the male brutes, sluts, and adulterers who hired her for quick and secret sex as they expected it. Though no one deserves to be murdered, Wuournos was by the state. Almost all the men she murdered were made out to be victims and saints, who were 'just being typical men by hiring a prostitute . . .' .
I also didn't give this story line an excellent rating because it fails miserably to look at the sexual roles the brutal, cheating, adulterous men are playing in the tragic story of Aileen Wuournos. Rated R and a half, this one's not even for pre-teens or young teens. It's an adult film that one should go into with a critiquing mind of the men's roles and mischaracterizations as "victims."

WOW! What can I say? Well to start this film was well put together, well played by the actors and well looked into before setting into just making the next wanna be box office hit. Monster will make you love it nor hate it. Based on the "first" female serial killer. Taking place in where we know as fun and sun Florida. Only this story based on Aileen Wuornos played by Charlize Theron. This film is nothing but fun in the sun. For Aileens life was not just on the set starting here as if watched. We learn that Aileen stars herself in 1992 title Aileen Wuornos: the selling of a SERIAL KILLER - 1992 interviews. As we watch in horror of what is the worst of what is unknown. Did these things happend to Aileen aka Lee? In the convincing 92 interviews it's hard not to want to believe Lee and what was told. Then comes Lee's shocking tell all and no holds bar in 2002 Lee turns up the heat in the Life and DEATH of a SERIAL KILLER INTERVIEWS! Here Lee tell's all and everything but what happend in 92 this time Lee turns it all around and is ready to die hard and nothing is gonna stop her from what Lee wants as always. This dvd packed with shocking moments has you mad and wanting everything not 10 years ago in the 92 interviews. UNTILL the camras are down and Lee thinks they are off do we hear something that may just shock us even more!? Lee is put to death and then Patty Jenkins picks up the heat in this non stop action yet painful jet set movie Monster. As we once again feel pain for Lee why? Then there's times of hurt and anger all in one. As the one and only Charlize Theron gives her best yet. One film to watch but recomend the interviews first as they all fall in place. To the final Oscar winning cut Monster. This film was well done by not just Jenkins however Jenkins herself and Theron went on a misson to research. To the streets where Lee once was to the sceen where she was caught. This is a dedicated film and will leave you on the edge of your seats with sceens of tears of sadness yet anger. Enjoy this thrill of a ride as it's like watching Speed for the first time only Jenkins really knows when to push that button to blow things up. 5 stars. Leigha Anes Wells.......

Disturbing But Keeping It Real
Charlize Theron gives the performance of a lifetime in this excellent movie about serial killer Aileen Wuornos. I highly recommend watching Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer after you've seen this movie. Then you'd totally appreciate her performance all the way down to her facial expressions. This movie is a little disturbing at times, particularly when she is raped, so I only recommend this film for mature audiences. But Charlize does an excellent job transforming a small time hooker into the first female serial killer in U.S. history. The movie is a little sympathetic towards Aileen Wuornos, as it tries to show things from her point of view. Other critics don't like the movie as much as I do because of this reason, but you just have to take it all in and form your own opinion. I believe this is an important movie and the cast is outstanding. No wonder why Charlize won an Oscar for her role. She did her homework and plays the part as if she was a cold-hearted serial killer herself. If you like informative, well-acted serial killer movies, this is right up there with the best movies in the genre.

Monster - The Story of Eileen Wournos
The movie, 'Monster,' does an excellent job portraying a year in the life of Eileen Wournos, known by many as America's most well-known female serial killer. Charlize Theron, in the title role, truly captures the look, character, and essence of Wournos. She well deserves the Oscar (2004 Best Actress) and numerous other awards bestowed.
The movie itself would have been better served had the part of Wournos' lesbian lover been more accurately portrayed, rather than creating a fictional character loosely based on her.
Still, I found the movie quite enjoyable - one of the best of genre I've seen in some time.
Aileen Wuornos faced difficult odds early in life, abusing drugs and becoming a prostitute and pregnant by the age of 13. Wuornos moved from Michigan to Florida where she continued to ply her "trade," specializing in a clientele consisting mainly of truck drivers. It was during that time that she began murdering any "John" who tried to rape her.
