Moondance Alexander DVD
Inspired by a true story, this is a must for people who love family oriented programming, Kay Panabaker Life is 15-year-old Moondance, who happens to be not a popular ninth grader. While worker for McClancy(James Best) she runs into a Pinto pony she names Checkers. Her mom(Lori Laughlin) is firm about returning Checkers to its rightful owner, the moody Dante Longpre (Don Johnson). Moondance offers to help Dante care for his animals at the riding stable in exchange for a chance to ride the black and white horse
Moondance pursues a dream she never knew she had. Convinced that Checkers has champion potential, she enters him in the Bow Valley Classic.
I decided to purchase this because I am a Don Johnson fan. Also the entire cast is extremely good. Michael Damien directed this and the story is based upon his wife's real life story.
'Moondance Alexander' will make her way into your heart
I really enjoyed this film. Very well acted and the young Kay Panabaker is lovely as well as talented. Inspired by a true story, Moondance, who is a sweet teenager, is at the end of her first year of High School. Friendless, somewhat awkward but as bright as a little star, is shunned greatly by other schoolmates. Having lost a parent recently and her first summer without much to do, she has incredible encounters with new faces, making joyful new ties and enlightening everyone she comes in contact with. A genuine feel-good movie for the entire family, with an all-star cast and an excellent soundtrack, which of course, I also purchased! Touching and memorable.

"Moondance Alexander" to me is a five star family movie! Based on a true story the actors do a wonderful job and the story line will give you hope to over come situations in your life that you may think is not worth trying. It is a pleasure to have movies like this one with no violence or foul language but one that will inspire you to do your very best and show that there is hope to be found. It is worth watching just to see the beauty of the horses jump.

This was a cute show about a girl falling in love with a horse. My 10 year old and 6 year old girls loved it. It was clean no foul language or inapropriate scenes! Good family movie for horse lovers <3
GOOD? NOT SO MUCH!
I bought this movie because of the rave reviews and was surprised by its shallow plot and characters. The odd names of the mother & daughter plus beautiful scenery were the only things that stand out about it. It was more like an after school special with a silly mother and mean girls opposite the main character. The horse trainer's tragic past was never explained.
In spite of its "Dove Family Approved" rating, there was an instance of taking God's name in vain, a scene of drinking, and the mother's far eastern mysticism. If you are looking for a Christian movie, this isn't it.
