Motorola Droid Razr Maxx - 16GB - Black (Verizon) Smartphone

The Razr Maxx is SOOOO much better than the Razr. The battery lasts nearly 24 hours for me and I use the phone all the time for email, movies, etc. I bought this because of the battery on my old Razr barely lasted 1/2 day! This has a lot more settings to personalize and isn't any heavier than the Razr with the bigger battery. I don't like always having to go through the security screen (after xx seconds, it reverts back to it) but I can't figure out how I can reset it, if at all. The screen color is excellent, very vibrant. Movies run great on it, sound is good. Much better than Blackberry - more features, easier to use (more like a computer screen). I Love it! I was smart this time and got a hard cover and screen cover!

This is a great phone and it has excellent battery life. I have yet to have my battery die or have it come anywhere close. This phone is very simple to use and I've had no problems with it, however, I do recommend looking up the owner's manual. That will save you a bunch of time and will teach you short cuts.

The only thing that I don't like about this phone is the volumes. I have to set every volume individually, instead of using one button to turn it up. I hit the volume button, it just turns up the ringer, not everything else. So I have to go into settings and adjust them manually. (if someone has figured this out, I would like to know)

The 4G is amazing! After being on 3G for so long and finally upgrading, I can now see what everyone was talking about. When I listen to Slacker radio, the app loads so much faster and has no problems loading or anything else what so ever.

What's even better about this phone is the "Smart Actions" app that comes with it. I can adjust these so that between certain hours at night, my phone goes on silent but only certain people can call. Or when I'm driving, it senses that I'm moving and my AUX cable is plugged in, so it opens my radio app and puts my phone on vibrate. This is an amazing app that's only for Motorola!

In a nutshell, this phone is amazing! I recommend it to everyone!

Bought this to replace a Blackberry, Very nice has better features and is more rounded with usage, better with apps. and a lot more to chose from most being free, Big advantage, has better volume on phone, don't have the hang ups that I did, A lot faster performance better control over settings handles all my emails personal and work, My laptop seems to be getting a rest since Ive gotten this. Updates all programs automatically.
Since I had the phone 3 other people was impressed with it, They now own one, I will confess that I do miss my BB messenger, I would like for the system to be able to use emoticons on a better basis. Since I been using it I have not had it lock up once, so no more battery pull to get it running again, A very big plus. I would definitely recomend giving one a try

I bought this phone because my previous phone was slow. I didn't have time to wait around for it to perform the action I needed. I also bought it outright so that I could keep my current contract. Best phone I have had so far. It is fast and reliable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a smart phone. Worth every penny. I can't think of anything that I don't like about it. I put it to the test. The first month I used almost 9 gig of data. Music, video, surfing, and social media. All ran quickly and smoothly. Better than my computer.

I have had two motorola phones and two iPhones before purchasing the Droid Razr Maxx. I had the Droid X and Droid X2. Both were good phones, but battery life wasn't the greatest and I wanted something more than Gingerbread had to offer. So, from there I bought the iPhone 4 and eventually the iPhone 4S. Battery life on those wasn't the best and iOS did not have the
same functionality of Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Droid Razr Maxx has been my favorite smartphone to date.

Pros:
-Superb battery life: It easily lasts me all day. I watch a lot of video on it, so I have to charge it every night. However, I don't have to charge it midday like I had to for my iPhone 4S.

-Ice Cream Sandwich: Android 4.0 running on the Maxx is one of the least customized versions of Android. The slight tweaks that Motorola has made generally improve the use of the device.

-MicroSD card slot: It seems as if the microSD card slot is disappearing. It is nice to see Motorola included it on the Maxx.

-Excellent Call Quality: I get excellent Verizon coverage where I live, so my device has no problem keeping connected. Calls are quite good.

Cons:

-Bloatware: Verizon has loaded this device with bloatware. Thankfully, most of it can be either removed or disabled.

-Screen: qHD resolution is a bit disappointing coming from the retina display on the iPhone. When viewing the screen up close, you can distinguish the individual pixels. Being Super AMOLED, bright colors are very vibrant. However, some colors appear washed out, such as skin tone. In direct sunlight, the screen is barely visible even with brightness at 100%. Overall, the screen isn't the best, but it is usable.

-Rear camera: Motorola's camera technology has not changed much since the Droid X. The camera takes pretty good outdoor shots, but struggles in low-light situations.

Overall, the Droid Razr Maxx is a decent device. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a relatively low cost phone with the superb battery life. If money is not an issue, get the Droid Razr Maxx HD.
