Cheap VPN solution for connecting two LANs

) This is FVS318v3 (with firmware 3.0_28), I used them for VPN to connect two LANs that one LAN with static public IP and the other LAN with dynamic public IP. It works fine but not as stable as FVS318v1 (with firmware 2.4) which can run for months without reset. However, v3 offers 100M WAN port while v1 offers 10M WAN port. But the v3 is ok, which has a setting that I can set it automatically re-boot daily at the time I specified. With two of these devices, you do NOT need VPN software installed at client computers to have the VPN connections. That is a huge plus for these VPN routers. If you only have one of it at the LAN with static public IP, you can still VPN to it by using VPN client software such as ShrewSoft.

I would not recomend for production, for testing will be OK!

) Router will not open the ports in the firewall, even after new firmware. I tried to reboot, unlplug from power reset none of it worked!

Had a Leviton 10/100 4 port router in house but needed bigger unit. Went with Netgear because of reputation and reviews. Extremely happy with this unit. Easy to set up. Plug and play basically.
