New Moon 2 by Stephenie Meyer (2006, Hardcover)

I am 35 years old and until I read this book as well as the series, I had NEVER picked up a novel and read it from cover to cover in one day! This book and series has captivated me and left me longing for what happens next. I was pleased that it does not have too much of the unnecessary stuff. It has honestly been a long time since I have had such an interest in a book other than my school books. I am looking forward to the movie release in November as well as the movie releases of the last two books in the series. These books are ones I will read over and over again. I have seen and heard the reports about the author Stephenie Meyer not being a good author, I beg to differ. She writes a great story line that captivates the audience. Her books may be easy reads but, who says a book has to be difficult of full of words you don't necessarily understand? Everyone is entitled to what they want to read; I like books that make me feel good and don't leave me freaked out and scared. Also, who says that a vampire has to be brutal? This is a perception that Hollywood has conjured and made us believe. Why can't we have stories about vampires that do have a sense of moral and have the desire to be good and do well? I love this book and series and obviously I am not the only one because of the sales of her books and the movie being a hit.

To date, I have read the entire Twilight Saga, which includes: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. These books started me reading again after not reading for years. I read the entire series in three months. This book was so full of emotion it really reaches down into the core of you and makes you feel what the main character is feeling. Stephanie Meyer has a gift for words. I would recommend this series and this book in particular to anyone of any age. It is marketed for the young adult group, but I am 29 years old and I thoroughly enjoyed every word of the series. It is truly a phenomena.

The first of the so far three book series got me hooked, but the second book almost got me unhooked. I loved the first book surprisingly as it was full of teenage angst, and star crossed lovers with a great supernatural twist. However, I agree with other reviews in saying that, after Edward leaves a hundred or so pages in, the book becomes nothing but a "sob fest". I, like many other readers forced myself to finish the novel only in hopes that Meyer would redeem herself in her next book, which, if you read my other reviews, you will learn that she does.

This book reminds me of the love we all wish we had, especially when we were teenagers. Bella and Edward are so in love, until an incident with his family reminds Edward the dangers that Bella might face everyday with being with him. So the best option for him is to leave her forever. With the devistation of her love gone she finds friend ship with Jacob who she has known for most of her life. Things go wrong with Edward assumes the worst for Bella and does the unthinkable. I have read this book about 3 times and just love the Twilight series. I bought this book because I wanted to have the hardback edition.

I decided to buy Twilight because I saw the movie. I was curious to see if the book was better and boy was it. The detail and the feeling that was put into the book was amazing. Then I bought New Moon. It was everything that I had hoped it would be, again the detail in every sentance was outstanding. The way the author made you feel what each person in the book was going though was insane! I could feel the emotion coming off the pages, so much so that I finished the 550+ page book in less the 24 hours. Before I finished New Moon I orderd the 3rd book entitled Eclipse. I can not wait for it to arrive. I also ordered the 4th Breaking Dawn so that I can dive into that one as soon as I am done with the 3rd. Bella, Edward and the other people in the book take me to a place that is majical. And I love it!!!!
