Excellent Low Budget Yet Very Powerful. Very Impressive

Unexpectedly, SMS messages have become the most popular mobile service. Who would have thought that people will write messages in a peculiar way on these small keyboards? Years later, phones are much more advanced and the variety is greater, but this service continues to hold the first place. So it should be expected that developers will try to make it more user-friendly, shouldn’t it? Until recently, the availability of a full keyboard was something typical only for business phones, but manufacturers began to realize that the ordinary customers also like using SMS, e-mail and chat and QWERTY keyboards have made their way into every level of consumer devices.
Design:
Thanks to this, we have models like the Nokia E63. Based on the popular business smartphone E71, a full keyboard is now available to everyone. Its appearance is more casual, replacing the metal with a high-quality plastic. Hopefully, the build quality doesn’t suffer from this and is still very high-end. The colors are also more liberal and instead of the boring grey and black, here we find the fresher blue or red. The E63 has gotten a bit thicker and is now 13 mm, instead of the E71’s 10 mm. There is virtually no change in the other dimensions and as a whole the size is pretty decent for a QWERTY phone. Speaking of the keyboard, we have to mention that the keys are very handy, although a bit small. Unfortunately, once again, the bottom row of keys isn’t shifted to the right so you’ll have to get used to it in order to avoid mistakes. When it comes to buttons, we have to note the total lack of such on the sides – no volume rocker and no power key.
Of course a reduced price version of an earlier phone is bound to have some omissions, but Nokia has done a good job of lessening the blow with the E63, essentially a budget version of the Nokia E71.
Sensibly, they've kept the important stuff, and in some cases even improved it. The E63's key selling point is its QWERTY keyboard, which is a slight improvement on its predecessor's by dint of being a couple of millimetres wider, with slightly larger keys.
The original wasn't difficult to use, and this one is a breeze, with rounded keys of rubberised plastic offering good purchase to nimble thumbs and just the right degree of feedback.
Helpfully, it even beats similar keyboards from the likes of BlackBerry by including one-touch access to essential characters like the full stop and @ symbol.
Like the BlackBerry, it's easy to set up push email accounts (all you'll need in most cases is your email address and password) and it can work with most of the major email standards, including Microsoft Exchange, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and others, though not BlackBerry Connect.
Budget version
The E63 feels a little cheaper than the E71 with plastic replacing the metal skin of the older phone. The E63 is slightly thicker too, though it still manages to be a gram lighter.
Around the sides are micro USB port and microSD card memory slot (none is supplied) plus a 3.5mm headphone jack on top. But there are no volume buttons (you can use the D-pad while making a call or listening to media instead), voice notes button or camera shutter button.
The web browser is a practical one, which does what it needs to with a minimum of style, but it delivers the goods. Zooming, address bar and keyword search can all be accessed via shortcuts on the numeric keypad and there's a useful option that breaks down web pages.

Great smartphone

This phone is packed with both fun and serious features. It is a relatively small phone compared to other phones with QWERTY keyboard. The 2MP camera takes good pictures and the memory is expandable. I would definitely recommend this to people who like a to have a user-friendly phone on the go.

MY Nokia E63 Phone
Created: 05/05/10
My Nokia E63 is a very good phone. I bought it because I was happy and imprest about its description. What I have liked about it is that its user friendly. It has most of the applications one would want in a phone. Its also easy to install applications that are not there. I only dislike the issue of its GPS service where it requires an external bluetooth GPS receiver. Otherwise its fine. Thankyou

I bought this phone because of it's features and price. Comparing to phones like it, this is the cheapest. I'm also in love with the color blue, so that helped to sell it. On paper, everything looks good. When you get it, and start to explore and use it, everything is better!!!!! I am in love with this phone. Comfortable keypad, easy instructions and the list goes on.
