Movie synopsis

Back in slick style, OCEAN'S TWELVE reintroduces Ocean (George Clooney) and his perfectly trained team of con men, who are determined to take on Europe. Dividing forces to hit Paris, Amsterdam, and Rome, the heist-meisters move beyond casinos to tackle new objectives, one of which involves stealing a famous painting. With OCEAN'S TWELVE, Steven Soderbergh re-teams with his high profile friends for another glamorous romp through the high-stakes underworld. Three years after Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and his crew robbed Las Vegas casino tycoon Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) of one hundred sixty million dollars, Benedict has finally tracked them down. He gives them a two-week ultimatum to come up with the money or suffer the consequences. Knowing that the odds are stacked against them, the gang nonetheless heads to Amsterdam for a big heist. But what no one realizes is that ultra-smooth Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) has ulterior motives for leading the gang to Amsterdam. Turns out his former flame, Isabel Lahiri (Catherine Zeta-Jones), is living and working there tracking criminals such as Ocean and French master Francois Toulour (Vincent Cassel), better known as "The Night Fox." Threatened by the universally admired eleven, Toulour challenges Ocean to a dangerous museum heist that will either make or break the gang once and for all. It's up to Tess Ocean (Julia Roberts) to fly into town and bail the boys out of trouble. Every frame of OCEAN'S TWELVE is bursting with gleeful energy, as is the film's soundtrack, provided by acclaimed musician David Holmes.

Ocean's Twelve is Less than Ocean's Eleven

Created: 30/09/05
If Ocean's Twelve had not followed Ocean's Eleven, my guess is that the reviews would be more favorable - but, for better or worse, Ocean's Twelve is a sequel and its predecessor, Ocean's Eleven, was an excellent movie and had tremendous success. The Ocean's Twelve cast is outstanding (Andy Garcia, Bernie Mac, Brad Pitt, Carl Reiner, Casey Affleck, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cherry Jones, Don Cheadle, Elliott Gould, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Scott Caan, Vincent Cassel) with especially strong performances from Brad Pitt and Catherine Zeta-Jones... but the writing is sub-par and really stretches at times. Ocean's Twelve is an extension of the first movie: three years after Danny Ocean's crew (Ocean's 11) robbed Las Vegas casino owner Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), Benedict is seeking revenge and the $160MM that was stolen. Benedict givens Ocean and gang two weeks to get the money - or else. Seeking quick, big money, Ocean's 11 plans a big heist in Amsterdam.

Don't get me wrong - the movie is fun, has plenty of action and humor... my complaint is that it doesn't live up to Ocean's 11. Still an enjoyable ride.

Ocean's 12 Review

Created: 09/06/09
Oceans 12 wasn't as good as the first, but it was pretty good. Yes, as the previews say, there all back and more are added including Julia Roberts as no. 12. It starts out as Terry Benedict gives Oceans eleven men two weeks to pay back his money or he will kill them. So they decide to pull off some jobs to make the dough. However Catherine Zeta Jones is trying to catch them red-handed. The plot is twisted and like the first one it doesn't come together until the end, but you may have to see it a few more times to understand it. The movie doesn't explain the roles of some of the men and it is more like Damon's Four for awhile, and you'll see why, but in the end it is funny, and it makes you think, unlike recent movies being made. Watch for the cameos, with Bruce Willis, and the actor in Brad Pitt's hotel room is form That 70's Show. P.S. the movie isn't that predictable like some reviewers say. I recommend seeing the prequel first Oceans 11 it will make more sense in the second one.

Good Watch - but no Ocean's Eleven -worth the time

Created: 02/02/06
I think it's best not to watch Ocean's eleven and Ocean's twelve back to back.

But this movie has some merit to stand on it's own, and it certainly is worth a look. The story picks up wehre we find out that no one has truly retired... and suddenly not only does the casino demand it's money back, but now another thief "the Night Fox" is beating them at their good targets....

Romance (a new one) and cameos by Bruce Willis and Julia Roberts (as themsleves) make it fun, while there is plenty of action around the globe to keep you interested.

Pop the Popcorn, grab a seat on the couch- and try not to take it's "lack of living up to Ocean's Eleven" to seriously. This movie is still a good watch!

Great condition. Excellent product.

My sister has Ocean's 11, and has never had the opportunity to see Ocean's 12 or 13. At the first chance I saw at getting 12 and 13, I leaped at it. But of course I had to watch the movie before giving it to her.

Ocean's 12 is a slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww movie unlike its predecessor. It builds up and it's like as if there is no escalating moment to a grand theft in process because everyone is getting caught and uncaught. And of course you'd have to be a math whiz to keep up with the days of the week since it bounces all over the place. So if it comes to plot unfolding, this movie is a dud.

But of course, some movies are not at all about plot but about the characters. In this movie you'll find a majority of the first cast, including the yummy boys Clooney, Pitt, Mac, Garcia and many more. New cast members are introduced like Zeta Jones and the Night Fox. They're always nice to look at on screen.

Basic Plot: Terri Benedict blackballs the gang from doing any business in the states. So the gang goes international. Their only problem now is a local hero called the Night Fox who completes the job before them. In a battle to know who is best at the business of theft, the Night Fox and Oceans 12 battle it out to get a crown jewel, a fancy looking egg. Who is the best? Watch it to find out.

So if you're looking for a long night ahead of you, and want eye candy without having a juicy plot unfolding, this movie is for you.
