Movie synopsis
The Outsiders is an iconic 1980's movie that includes actors Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, and Thomas Howell. The DVD of this film includes all of the content in the original film on just one disc. From Zoetrope Studios, this film directed by Francis Ford Coppola is a teen drama that follows the storyline of the novel of the same name written by S. E. Hinton, which shows the good and the bad of the outcasts of society. The Outsiders is set in 1966 and follows teens on the good and bad sides of the town of Tulsa. The two gangs of youths in this movie are pitted against one another through various conflicts and drama filled incidents. The DVD contains pulse gripping action sequences and a plotline that showcases a star-studded cast of actors in their breakout roles. The Outsiders depicts the ups and downs of adolescence and the true character of some of society's outcasts and how those individuals act when put under duress.

It has a great cast, that is still popular with us like; C.Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Diane Lane, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, and Leif Garrett.
Based in 1966 Tulsa, teenagers came in two ways. "Soc," you've got money, cars, and a great future. But if you're a "greaser," you're an outsider, with not so much money either a family that doesn't care whether you're dead or alive, and some just your siblings looking as=fter you as their own, and a dream that you'll some day belong.
A great film with lots of action and a movie/book that will never be forgotten!

) Insightful story of class rivalry written by a 16 year old girl!!! On the class reading list of my 7th grader(yes, he read it first!) who loved the book. I surprised him with the DVD, and we both were captivated by the movie. It didn't hurt that the cast was cram-packed with really young now famous stars including Tom Cruse, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon, Leif Garrett, Rob Lowe, etc. Great buy!!!

) I bought this primarily because one of the stars was Patrick Swayze. He didn't play a very big role in this movie, but overall it was excellent. It was a hoot to see all these now big stars when they were so young. Good to watch the group of friends taking care of each other and sticking together, too, when things got tough.
Awesome movie , highly recomended

) The outsiders is an excellent clasic movie . We read the book for english back in 1987 , as usual there are slight changes from book to movie. The star line up in the movie is very impressive !!

I BOUGHT THE MOVIE-BECAUSE PATRICK SWAYZE IS IN IT..NOT MUCH OF A MOVIE-NOT WELL WRITTEN..JUST A FILLER-JUNK MOVIE..STUPID MOVIE..IT IS NEAT.TO SEE A LOT OF BIG NAME ACTORS..WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG.NOT ACTING VERY GOOD..GANG FIGHT IS STUPID AND KIDS.KILLING EACH OTHER IS STUPID..IF YOU JUST WANT SOMETHING TO WATCH..GO FOR IT..NOT WORTH THE MONEY..I WAS LOOKING FOR MORE.FROM.FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA.BUT HE FAILED BIG TIME ON THIS ONE..
