As with all Pioneer products this unit sounds and works Great.
On top of playing traditional audio CD's, the DEH-1300MP also reads and plays MP3 and WMA file formats...The DEH-1300MP also features Pioneer's very own Advanced Sound Retriever, a technology that digitally enhances compressed audio such as MP3 for a rich, full, dynamic sound quality to your music collection...The DEH-1300MP features a universal 3.5mm mini-jack auxiliary input to allow playback from your favorite portable media player...The DEH-1300MP incorporates one of the most advanced AM/FM tuners ever built, the Supertuner IIID...Compared to conventional amplifier ICs commonly used in car headunits, the DEH-1300MP's MOSFET amplifier circuit provides higher power with minimal distortion and practically zero device switching noise

Features
The Pioneer DEH-1300 CD Receiver is a pretty plain and basic CD receiver; it does not offer MP3 playback or CD controller support (you can’t add a CD changer). The CDs are front loading and the face plate does not move. The receiver does offer nice EQ settings and you are giving 6 presets and you can make your own. The unit powers the speakers with a non-mosfet top power rating of 45w/channel and it has one set of RCA outputs (for attaching an amp) running at 2V It also has a AM/FM radio but it needs an adapter to use it in a GM made car. (I have included the full specs from Pioneer’s website at the end of this review)

Installation
This was the first real car audio install I have ever done and Pioneer made it easy with there detailed manual. The manual had no mistakes in the wire diagrams and in fact they showed you how to wire an amplifier to the unit. I did run into a problem though, because of the fact I drive a GM car I needed to get a special adapter to use the radio, it was around $20 and I do feel that they should have included it.

Sound Quality
This is where the unit really shines and let’s be frank here this is the ONLY part that really matters. The unit sounds great; the highs are vibrant, the mids are not muddled as in some other receiver I have heard and the bass, well if you’re a bass fan and your speakers can handle it then you can feel it! Speaking about if your speakers can handle it, well if you’re running from stock speakers, they can’t. Do not get me wrong they still sound great but this unit puts out a lot of power with very little loss of quality (the volume goes to 30 and it sounds great until around 25 which it to loud for most people). In other words if you get this unit you will have to get new speakers to truly understand how great it is. As far as the radio goes, it is very good it gets stations in clearer and faster then my old stock radio did.

Other Info
The screen is very nice, it gives you all the info you need and it doesn’t get “washed out” in sunlight like other receivers do. The button placement is very intuitive and a piece of cake to use. One thing I was very happy about was that it plays CD-R’s as long as their have .wave’s on them. The unit also plays almost any CD; if you have a CD that is scratched and won’t play in your CD player odds are it will play in this one (I know mine did)

Great stereo receiver at a better price

 | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I actually have bought 3 of these units recently, two for cars I own, and one to install in my mother's car. The 5 star rating that I give it is based on value for the money; at this price (less than $100 all day long) it delivered better than expected performance.
Installation was drama free in all three cars and for what it is worth, I think it looks quite good in the dash.
I own a higher level pioneer head unit, and I suppose that is what prompted me to take a look at pioneer when it came time to install an inexpensive stereo in an old Subaru. I was pleasantly surprised to find that things like power rating etc. were the same as my better but older Pioneer. What's lacking? As you might expect, it does not have all of the bells and whistles. For instance, there is no option to send additional bass or treble to front or back separately as in my other Pioneer. But it has more features than you would expect. In addition to being able to the typical eq settings, it has a handy series of eq presets (super bass; powerful; natural etc) It also has a 1/4 plug that I use for my xm radio, but can also be used to plug in an mp3 player.
The only thing of which I am not fond is the volume knob that doubles as the switch between cd, radio and auxiliary. When tapped, the input is switched (holding it in turns off the power). However, when adjusting the volume, a bump in the road will cause an inadvertent switch of input.
It may not be fair to compare this receiver to the 10 year old JVC that I took out of my wife's car, but I will anyway. Keeping in mind that it is powering 4 stock 1992 Honda speakers, it sounds smooth and powerful. Although not dramatic, I hear improvement over the higher priced JVC. Moreover, I suspect that it would rival my other system if it were mated to the same Infinity Kappa speakers.
Bottom line for me: Great stereo receiver at a better price

Nice Price for a great cheap radio

Created: 09/01/11
This radio is a basic, no frills, user friendly unit. not alot of bells and whistles to confuse you. adjustments for bass, mids, and treble are easy to find. numbered presets are there for ease of use while driving. front aux lets you plug in your mp3 player or whatever has a earphone jack for clear audio, beats using a fm modulator!!!

great radio for my worktruck, and detachable faceplate provides peace of mind when left in a parking lot all day.

pioneer deh-1300mp cd/mp3 clayer

Created: 04/04/11
well what I like about is that I also have another one and I like the fact I can play my ipod threw the player and have a cd in the player at the same time. the one in my car has been in 4 pickups and is still running strong I feel you get what you pay for and this player is well worth the money. I also like the remote control it spoils you. you can do so many things with it and not take your eyes off the road. great sound if you have aftermarket speakers. sounds great and still
lasts for many years with out troubles.Great player would highly rate the player as a # 10.
