Influenced by the glam rock of Queen, Slade, and the Sweet, the quartet reveled in the style's high-energy elements, while trading the outlandish imagery for a no-frills, denim-clad look that made them even more accessible to the masses. With 1983's PYROMANIA and its delayed follow-up punch, 1987's HYSTERIA, Def Leppard became an international phenomenon, unleashing hit after hit, including the riff-heavy, shout-along singles "Rock of Ages," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," and "Armageddon It."This collection presents every song on the previously released VAULT: GREATEST HITS 1980-1995, along with an entire second disc of additional album tracks, including the AC/DC-like "High 'N' Dry (Saturday Night)" and HYSTERIA's anthemic ode to "Women." Throughout the decades, the group endured its share of upheavals and tragedies--drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a 1985 accident and guitarist Steve Clark died in 1991--but they continued recording into the 21st century (see the 2002 track "Now"), revealing a determination that most of their peers lacked. For fans of '80s hard rock, this 35-track compilation is essential.

) There's no going wrong with this title. If you're a rock n' roll fan or a Def Leppard fan this is one you have to pick up. Included in this collection are songs from the beginning... 1980 to 2005. Rock Brigade, High N' Dry, Rock of Ages, Photograph, Pour Some Sugar on Me, and Let's Get Rocked are just some of the hits on the 2cd set. A new cover song is also included called, No Matter What, originally recorded by Badfinger. The Rock of Ages Definitive Collection is as good as it gets!

) I saw Def Leppard for the first time in 2005 when they went on
tour with Bryan Adams. I have never heard any of their music before,
so when I went to the concert I saw that they were very much loved
by Minnesotans and they said we were like second best to their
hometown in Sheffield England. So then that meant we were a great welcoming
crowd, and people REALLY loved them. They were loud, but pretty good.
I heard this collection came out in 2005, so I decided to buy it and get into the music I heard at the concert. I found it on Ebay for a very cheap price, and I am really addicted to this 2 cd set of all their hits. There
is a great variety of classic rock and 80's metal as well as some nice rock ballads that are so nice to sway along to. I am not much of a metal person, but their hits on here are extremely catchy with the chorus you just want to sing along just as every single person was at the concert I went to. However,
just a minor judgment of mine is that I previewed song clips from all of their other albums and did not care for a whole lot of them, so this collection is the best of all of their material to me. Joe Elliott's voice has a lot of different sounds, and it is cool when artists don't always sound the same. You got the Joe with the all out rockin' high voice, the steady uptempo rock voice, the calm rock, and his soothing soft voice perfect for rock ballads. I like variety in music, so this is an album you will not get bored with! I do not have much of anything bad to say about this collection there are many songs to get into. If you are a Def Leppard fan, or a fan of the 80's rock or metal, you will probably enjoy this album a lot! :)

This compilation rocks!

) This compilation kicks butt, primarily in the fact that it contains songs that are popular, and also containing most of the smaller hits on the second disc. Also the inclusion of Switch 625 on the first disc recalls to mind the High N' Dry album, and the "second" piece to the song. Truthfully, if you own Vault, the lineup is similar. But, it is still worth buying as the second cd is a necessary addition to this set, and the track lineup is excellent in allowing for people to seriously be enjoying the cd. from serious collectors to casual rock n roll lovers, this compilation includes all ranges of hits. BUY IT!

) This is turly the best CD that Def Leppard has came out with. This is the fourth CD of The Definitive Collectin I have bought over the years. If you are a Def Leppard Fan like myself you will love every song on this CD. I GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UPPPP!!!

I LOVE DEF LEPPARD!!!! I currently have Def Leppards top hits but it didnt contain all of songs I wanted. So, when I saw this cd and saw the list of songs on it, I had to buy it! This cd set has all of the songs that made Def Leppard who they are. Classic rock never fades. It only gets better.
