Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727 - 16GB - Black (AT&T) Smartphone

This is an awesome phone. I bought this as a temporary phone while waiting for my IPhone 5 to arrive. I had sold my old IPone 4s using EBay Inatant Sale (highly recommend this service) and At&T was not able to deliver my new one for a month. I originally went a bought a Go Phone at the drug store but simply could not stand using it after the IPhone. I decided to get the Samsung Skyrocket to use in the interim and then give it to a friend. I almost did not want to give it up. It has a lot going for it, great screen, camera, huge display and tons of options. I did give it up when the new IPhone arrived. However, if you are an anti-apple person or an IPhone user looking for a change Samsung Galaxy SII or S3 is for you. There is a reason apple is seeing Samsung-they fell threatened and well they should. It is a delight to use. They need to get the quality of the construction improved. It does not feel as well made as the iPhone and for the price it needs to be solid. I still give it 5 stars and would not rule out owning the Galaxy phone in the future.

I just transfered form iOS to android. I want the best phone on the market ( in terms of looks and functionality ) and the Skyrocket was the winner.
As far as high end Android phones go ( uo till now ) the Galaxy note is the fastest, but that could only be used by a basketball player and put in a purse or a breefcase ( my pockets are not that deep ). Galaxy nexus is fast and gets updates earlyer, but it is not superior to the Galaxy s II. The galaxy S II has better camera and is the fastest phone on the market (except for the note). The international version has better dev support ( a larger variety of roms) but it looks like those square shapes i used to draw in preschool. Skyrocket looks amazing, has a larger 4.5'screen and plus that it has 4G LTE.

The only cons is the battery life, but what would you expect form a large 4.5 inch super amoled+ screen. Battery lasts for 24 hours, and with the correct ROM up to 2-3 days at best.
Upgrading the phone to android 4.0.3 increases performance with about +5% and makes it as fast as the galax note, and being on a lower resolution (would not care hor a higher res display) makes the phone respond even faster. ATT Skyrocket and Tmobile Galaxy SII are the best choices a person could make for the time being

Contrary to how it is advertised, there is NO FM tuner with RDS in the US version. I was really looking forward to that feature. You have to instead use your data plan or Wi-Fi bandwidth if you want to listen to live radio. Or you can of course go through the exercise of picking and downloading songs. Also, be aware that unlock apps in marketplace will not work with this model. Better to buy one that is already unlocked or you will have to take your chances with unlock services.

Other than that, it is fine. Similar to an iPhone except with LTE (where available), Android OS, and worse battery life. Battery life is a pretty important feature.

This phone is AMAZING to say the least. Samsung makes the best phones period and they are the only phones that can run with Apple iPhones in today's market. This phone is lightweight, sleek, fast, stylish, has a wonderful and vibrant high quality screen (at full brightness the screen looks unreal) the batter life usually lasts me a day and a half of normal use, the 4g LTE data speed is blazing fast, the screen transitions are smooth with no hiccups between screens, I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Using the phone is great, no problems with battery life either. I was previously using the lg revolution, so there's no comparison between the two really. skyrocket is fast, easy to use, nice bright screen, lightweight, durable, even the widgets and bloatwear aren't bad. The music player is another great thing about this phone. The only thing that disappointed me was the camera operations. The quality is great, but the focus on the pictures was weird. Overall a really cool phone.
