Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727 - 16GB - Black (Unlocked) Smartphone

Very nice phone. Light weight. Beatiful screen. Responsive. A littile too wide to hold in one hand for me. I wished ATT had reasonable priced data package for prepaid users. I was willing to sacrifice speed to use their $25 for 2GB plan but disappointed to find out that is only availabe for month to month service. So what is the point for a no-contract phone? I would have been better off to sign the 2yr contract and get the phone for less. So i switched to Verizon and got the 4GB/$30 plan and a HTC Rezound. I have been enjoying the super fast LTE network and the phone ever since.

I needed a phone to do my work on, like a handheld computer with at least a 5" screen for the sake of my eyes, because cellular internet is all you get in some locations. My main concern is enough ram and connectivity. I send out a lot of photos per hour over the data and I don't want to wait to long.
After looking at the specs of Sony, Nokia, HTC, Samsung, and a bunch of random others I decided to stick with Samsung and the choices got narrowed down to the Galaxy second generation because the third did not offer any significant improvements for the prices they are asking for in used phones. I was willing to pay up to $300. With that said the Galaxy Skyrocket was going for around $360 to 80 at the time of this writing... but I am patient and snagged a buy it now for $290! (PRICE DROP!!! A M AZ O N now has em for $359)
OK, second Gen has a few models as the carriers competed for your money. Be aware that the specs vary from carrier to carrier as each one promoted theirs being the fastest, prettiest, biggest or smallest etc... I was introduced to the US factory unlocked ATT version Skyrocket... Not much bigger than the Galaxy 2 it has a better processor more ram and slightly larger screen. (Not the European version)
I had the Galaxy S Vibrant prior to this so I noticed the upgrades in programming. Some things were missing like my contacts list, and at first I hated that but then I realized they were intuitively better where they were now located in the phone. (one program to rule them all) I like the dashboard widget were I can quick change settings and monitor battery without searching the the apps.AND they have a program installed where I can set it to save battery power. I actually went for three hours after the phone said "Plug me in" because the program is set to kick in at 20% battery and it turns off all the internal energy sappers you aren't using. I was amazed.
The phone is not the smallest or largest one and it will fit in your pocket if you don't have those new style "half pockets" in some of the fashion jeans.
The runner up here was the ATT Infuse which has similar programming as my old phone. When I had them side by side, the Skyrocket scrolling and app changing was much faster and didn't "hitch" like the Infuse did, which is a sign the processor can't keep up. (Think old 32 mb computer vs new hot souped up gaming computer...yeahhhhhhh you get it.)
I got the white version so be aware the backgrounds are all light colored so if you're messaging and you're wondering why it looks so weird, you've gone to the light side baby, If you prefer dark backgrounds stick to the darkside.... (HEY, I can HEAR you breathing!)
So, what don't I like about this phone.... well future world, where's my solar battery pack and silent hover car... That's about it.

Not what I was expecting. I wanted it to have a teleportation device and neural-net CPU (a learning computer), with a neural sub-net quantum holographic interface and mind control.

But instead it is one of the best phones available! Not only does it have Long battery life and a scratch-free AMOLED awesome very bright screen, but further it has a full 16GB of memory and is extremely fast.

I can't believe I bought such an awesome phone that is the best phone I ever bought.

[Why the complaining about no FM tuner? Stupid. Who listens to FM radio on their cell phone? You can't write a negative review about features that it is not SUPPOSED to have and also that it does not need!!!]

Samsung Galaxy S II is simply the best Smartphone available with such great features and performance in its category. The Galaxy S II Plus has 4.3 inch HD Super AMOLED display which is almost same in size with its competitor. The screen resolution is bit dimmer too. The body of the device is glossy but strong. The handsets dimensions 125.30mm x 66.10mm x 8.49mm in height, width and depth. Samsung has followed its traditional controlling looks. The combo of three button below the screen with menu and back capacitive keys on either side of physical home key. Above the screen it holds front facing 2 megapixels camera and sensors with earpiece in the middle. On the top it holds a 3.5 mm headphone jack with microphone on its side which helps in active noise cancellation. At the bottom it holds micro USB port for charging and data transferring and mouthpiece. On its right depth it has a power key and the volume controls are placed on its left depth. Sadly, it lacks with a dedicated camera key. At the back, it holds an 8 megapixels camera with LED flash on a metal plate surface and the speaker grill is placed almost at its bottom. The phone is a perfect fit in hand and will grab attention.

Best phone i have ever used i have always been a droid phone user and fan i dont care for iphones much this phone has a crystal clear display and is super fast takes awesome pictures and video and the battery lasts me all day with moderate data use and just an all around good phone...!
