Samsung SyncMaster P2770HD 27" 1080p HD LCD Television

if you're looking for a 27 inch lcd monitor - look no further. Watching blu ray movies off my computer's blu ray drive has the best hd quality i was ever given to see - even better than on my panasonic hdtv! Hell, when watching south park on blu ray, i could even see the details of the construction paper! signal from the cable box is even better than it was on the 26 inch insignia hdtv i replaced for this monitor, and the touch controls are pretty nifty! Get this monitor. don't hesitate. i shopped for the best 27 inch monitor and this one by far had the best features for the best price, and delivers that promess!

This monitor is one of the best monitors i have ever bought. The TV tuner is a great plus, I use this monitor for PC usage and cable. This is a great monitor to use with another small monitor to keep two things going on at the same time. One thing i dislike about this monitor, is that the outsource sound is only through optical cable.

I purchased the Samsung P2770HD LCD monitor/TV after looking at my daughter's Samsung and reviewing the picture quality compared to others in local retail outlets.
I'm a 67 y/o architect and I use AutoCAD for my work. I need a high-res monitor, the larger the better (I upgraded from a 2004 - 21" Dell). The graphics card I have in my present box (n'vidia geforce 5200) will not support all the functions of the new monitor, but I will soon upgrade to a custom Windows7, i7-950, EVGA GTS 450 w/ 1Gb GPU.
This is because I also enjoy on-line gaming and haven't been able to use the most recent releases with my old card and the pentium 4 processor.
I can tell from YouTUBE demo videos & other demos that I will love the new setup. I'm looking forward to the new computer & fresh display possabilities.
The only complaint that I have about the new monitor is not about the device itself, but about the software that comes with it. I am an experienced pc user & I found the installation software packaged with this monitor to be VERY POOR.
1st, the basic language in printed manuals was in Spanish - not English. This is, no doubt, because I ordered from a Florida dealer. Not a big thing, but adds to the mess when there are other problems.
2nd, the on-line manual does not match the printed - NOT EVEN CLOSE !!! This wouldn't be a problem except that the instructions are visually confusing.
3rd, the on-line installation instructions are pointed more at sales than they are at instructions.
All said and done, the product is superior, the support software is dismal.

I have always been a big Samsung fan. However, I do occasionally test drive other brands. I have been sitting on the fence about purchasing the Samsung P2770HD but with all the great reviews, I finally decided to jump. I am glad that I did. Go ahead and spend a couple extra bucks and get the HD version. I do agree with other reviews that I read about hdmi connection with a computer looks very wierd and washed out. But, if you change the input label to PC, it must update some other settings because your screen will refresh and look perfect.

This is perfect for a monitor/bedroom tv and there are plenty of other reviews to support that.

It has full 1080p, can run at 60hz. Best purchase i made on a tv. Great for the ps3 gaming and blu ray movies. good sound and it looks very sleek with touch sensitive buttons. It is good as monitor with the right guide to set up(must use hdmi port). look on amazon customer review site to find that guide. the picture is sharp and clear. The contrast is the best. good tuner with easy setup. Would highly recommend to any hardcore gamer, computer user, or in general for a tv user.

Edit: Been over a year. Still works wonderful. Only complaint is the one weak screw that holds the neck and base. Don't tug down on the tv for it will snap the support screw. The power sign on tv will start to fade away too since its painted on. Sun glare is expected on a LCD. still very happy with it.
