NOT good at all & cheap DVD package
Created: 30/10/10
I knew I was NOT going to like this film & I was right.
Fan of the show, although I did not get into until season 3.
The first film was OK. BUT a lot of story mistakes but you could kind of enjoy it
When I heard about the storyline for this 2cd film it did NOT sound good..
All four of the woman's lives were NOT happy. NONE of them. They had to make up ways to get all the important supporting characters in just to make fans happy.
Who bought the Stanford & Anthony wedding? Nope. Said in the movie they did NOT like each other in the series, you can buy them becoming friends because they were friends with the girls. Then the over the top wedding?
Made up reasons to bring Smith (Jerry) and Adian back. Bringing in 15 minutes about up Cyrus. NO BUSINESS IN THE FILM.
Carrie & John storyline. Wrong to have a TV in the bed room, this was the best they could do?
The reason Samantha got the free trip? She was NOT sleeping with any of the men to get it so another do NOT buy the story line. They did NOT like Los Angeles but loved the Middle East until the Samantha storyline.
Then they came up with seen a million times so called plot twists before they got out of the Middle East.
The much talked about "flashback". Not worth the VERY BRIEF camera time.
Film too long.
The storyline with Charlotte's nanny. WHO OTHER THAN TO GET A STORY IDEA WOULD LET THEIR NANNY DRESS LIKE THAT ON THE JOB? No one. Then the end of the movie lame get out of that storyline.
Miranda quitting then just without back up as to what happened she had a new job at the end of the film.
A huge misstep. They over hyped the film then it disappointed at the box office. Of course, looked at what you over hyped.
2 lame extras and then……
I HATE THESE THINGS. The DVD makers used one of these CHEAP, INTENTIONAL HOLES PLASTIC CASES. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP BUT THEY DO NOT DROP THE PRICE OF THE DVD. So, the DVD can be damaged for repurchase BUT NO ONE WILL WANT TO REPURCHASE THIS.
No chapter search list.
A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Sex and the City 2 - Jumps the Shark
Created: 22/11/10
The phrase "jump the shark" originates from Happy Days when the Fonz jumps onto a shark during a water ski adventure. It has come to refer to a situation where a storyline goes so completely off the expected 'rails' as to become completely unbelievable. Sex and the City 2 opens with our 4 heroines predictably mired down in marriage and family life. Samantha scores a PR gig with a wealthy gent from the middle east and the four are suddenly off on an adventure. Good shots of ultra first class travel and what $22,000 a night rooms look like. But this is a Muslim country and four Divas from New York are completely out of their depth. The premise of four leggy, scantily clad American women in a conservative society could've been manipulated to some gentle humor but this script misses the mark so completely that the three other women who watched this film with me all condemned it as being a waste of time. If you can get your head around wearing 4 inch heels in the desert, Muslim women wearing haute couture under long black robes and a shop keeper who faithfully hangs on to a valid US passport in expectation of its owner's return then this fantasy romp is for you. But for those of us faithful to the Sex in the City franchise this film is a big disappointment. The idea of depositing four fashionistas in a strange environment works in theory but not in the middle east. The whole thing could've been re-cast in almost any other place on the planet and had a reasonable chance of being entertaining but instead it trips over a lot of sore nerves it had every opportunity to avoid. It would take a hugely wonderful script to come back from this one and with parenthood now a big part of three out of the four women's lives one wonders how it could be done. Perhaps a 'girls' week off might work as a premise but then the locale would have to be something special - unlike this movie.

Sex and the City 2-DVD
Created: 22/11/10
I have been a fan of the Ses and the City series for years and have the complete collection. The first SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE was great, but this second one, SEX AND THE CITY 2, was also fun to watch expecially when the girls
had an all expense paid trip to the new middle east in Dubai and Abu Dabi. The soon learned that the customs of that part of the world are very restrictive when it comes to being a New York Girl. It was nice for thenm to have the owner of the hotel pick up the tab for them--until they were asked to leave suddenly and had to rush back to NYC. The girls still had fun, and they found
excitement and gentlemen callers who would cater to their every need, and I mean every need. What happens in Abu Dabi should stay there...keep it a secret.

Love the show, and the movies are always even better

I decided to buy it because I want to get the complete series and movies on dvd. I love the fashion in the movie. There is carrie who dresses out of the norm. samantha always dresses sexy, Miranda is more dressed for the office, and Charolette who dresses the part of a park ave. mommy. This movie picks up where SATC left off only its two years later. I must say I love where the movie picks up Each person is firmly set in their roles but the girls trip to the middle east makes them realize what holds them back in society in the USA. Love It!!!!
