Sigma EX 10 mm-20 mm F/4.0-5.6 HSM DC AF Lens For Canon

Product description

Product Information
10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens allows enjoyment of super wide-angle photography and it is a very powerful tool for indoor shooting and landscape photography with APS-C size image sensors of digital SLR cameras.Wide angle of view (102.4° at 10mm and 63.8° at 20mm) offers the photographer greater freedom of expression. Three SLD glass elements are employed for effective compensation of color aberration, which is a common problem with super-wide angle lenses. One piece of glass mold and two hybrid aspherical lenses, offer excellent correction for distortion, as well as all types of aberration. The HSM system provides quiet, high speed autofocus shooting and also offers full time manual focusing. It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm (9.4") at all focal lengths. The non-rotating lens barrel perfectly suits the petal shaped lens hood. A circular polarizing filter can also be used conveniently.

An excellent buy. I wanted a wide angle lens for some time but did not want to spend a whole lot since I am just a leisure photographer, mostly on vacation. The autofocus is fast and images come our great. Be sure to but the filters for this lens. Since it is so wide you let in a lot of light and may want to get a general UV filter and perhaps a polarizing filter if you like shooting outdoors especially near water. I am sure the Canon is better quality but for the difference in price it is well worth it.

I bought this lens to cover the wide angle focal lengths for my photography. I couldn't afford the expensive canon 10-22mm but opted for this against Tokina 11-16/ 12-24 and Tamron 10-24.

I'm very glad I settled for this and got a great copy. Sure it's a bit slower than the other brands but for a wide angle lens, you are most likely have to stop down. The Built quality is awesome, I loved the HSM motor, very fast and silent. I haven't had a chance to compare this lens to other competitions but I'm pretty sure I'll still settle for the widest focal which is 10mm.

Some people hate the distortion of this kind of lens but I love it! especially for portraits, it makes it fun and artistic. Lens flare has not been a real issue for me because that's easy to handle.

Overall, this lens has been on my 60d since I bought it, and if you need a wide angle that's affordable and has a lot of great feedbacks, then definitely get this lens.

The new version of this lens has a constant F/3.5 which may be helpful to some but for a personal experience I think there's not much difference. If it would've been F/2.8 now that's a different story. So I say save your money from the much expensive F3.5 version.

So yeah, I recommend this rad lens to anybody looking to go wide. You Will L O V E it!

Cheers, go out there, keep shooting and be safe.

Bryan

I love this lens for my wide angle needs. Sharp pictures and nice color. Quite a bit of vignette when wide open though. This can add or detract from the finished product

Nice lens, exactly what I wanted. I needed to take interior photos of relatively confined spaces and small rooms. On a Canon 600D with a 1.6 multiplier it is still a 16mm - 32mm wide angle lens which is great.

Outside it takes great panoramic shots and I can't wait for better weather to explore and use it more.
