) This is the second book in the Lady Julia series from Deanna Raybourn. I picked up the first book, Silent in the Grave, at my library on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised! That book, and this one, are set in old England. They are historical murder mysteries with some love interests too. Sexual tension is palpable but never directly stated. I'd rate it a PG for adult theme, but rarely a curse. Read this book!

) I loved the first Raybourn SILENT IN THE GRAVE and had to read this one (and anything by her I can get my hands on). This is just a wonderful story with a mystery and a little romance thrown in. The writing can't be beat, I just love her style and the mystery is darn good and of course the romance (which is so pure, so far) keeps you panting for more. Lady Julia is the youngest of 10 children and you meet some in this story you didn't meet in the first and they are unique and colorful and rememberable and Brisbane is his unique dark and mysterious self and engaged to someone else when the story opens. I was surprised by who the victim was and whodunnit and why. Highly recommend this series (hope it's more than a trilogy)!!!

I was so enthralled with the first book I could hardly wait for the second now I am anxiously waiting for the third. Deanna Raybourn can really write a good story. I really like the genre of her books.

) Loved this Book! If you like murder suspense you will love this. After reading Silent in the Grave I couldnt wait to read this and I wasnt disappointed. Keeps you guessing all the way through. A great story. Can't wait for the next book in this series. No sex or foul language..yea!

) I have only just discovered Deana Raybourn's works. Both books are extremely well written. I love the characters and the setting of the stories. They are not all mushy sexual books, but have just enough to make the characters human. I can wait to see if Ms Raybourn writes a sequel
