Sirius SXABB1 For XM / For Sirius Portable Satellite Radio Receiver

I have had Sirius radio now going on six years and have never looked back. It is wonderful. I have a lifetime membership on my Tivoli system and internet radio. I recently added one for the car and bought a mobile unit. In doing so I decided to take the music out to the backyard, BBQ's, neighbors yard etc. I began looking for a comfortable unit to be portable, easy to use, functional and good looking. I pretty much went with the Sirius model SXABB1 to give me what I wanted. It is easy to transport, I can let other people check it out to sample Sirius channels and I dont worry about it taking a beating because of the price. I wanted to some times take out my Tivoli but moving it and the wires was not portable. The sound is more than ample for casual listening at most functions and everyone comments how nice it looks and sounds. It is far from some big ticket items, but for the purpose it was bought for, it is perfect. I still use internet when I am on the computer (headphones) I still use the Tivoli, I still use the car. But this unit gives me the ability to be more flexible in always having Sirius radio available, especially with the Nfl games coming. I did not purchase this unit for the battery option, which it has, so no comment on that. I like having a easily transportable item to move where I need to have it. It is easy to use and easy on the eyes and pocketbook. I would highly recommend the Sirius unit as a back up or spare unit. It never will replace my Tivoli, but it was not purchased to do so. It is a nice addition to my music system.

I decided to buy Sirius/XM radio to combat the frustrations of finding good radio/news on those cross country road trips. THEN, it was apparent to me that I needed to bring XM inside I arrived where ever i was staying for any period of time...and that's where this purchase came into play.

This receiver is easy to use and produces a quality sound for such a little unit. The only drawback that one has to work around is finding a suitable location to "string" the antennae unit ( a 10 wire with a little antennae unit on the end.) I'm assuming that it needs a "line of sight" position (pointing into the sky) with the satellite that provides the feed.

At home I've simply opened a window and run the wire outside and then closed the window. Then it's just a matter of finding a suitable place to put the antennae that will pick up a signal.

So that's it. I'm pleased with this purchase. I mean, why leave the portable radio receiver in the car when you can simply detach it, bring it into the house and slip into the home receiving unit to let the fun continue !

Great sound & the convenience of having your music with you where ever you go. Love it!!!! Highly recommend this radio, works on A/C or batteries...

This receiver is great. The sound is perfect and clear. I also use it for my iPod with a special cord I had in the house. Love it.

great product,Sound is incredible,doesn't take up alot of room.Sometime alittle hard to get signal but that might be cause I have alot of trees. Overall a great experience. Thanks!
