By increasing the CCD's sensitivity to light, clearer, brighter video with more lifelike color can be captured, even when recording in dimly lit environments. Its 58mm aspherical lens and duel-position neutral density filter minimize distortion from standard spherical lenses and compensate for varying lighting situations such as studio lights or direct sunlight. Additionally, the VX2100 includes a built-in lens cap to protect the enhanced optics package, manual audio control and PCM Digital Stereo Audio in 12 and 16-bit modes, a manual focus and manual zoom ring, built-in color bar generator, 16: 9 wide screen recording capability, intelligent accessory shoe, both 12x optical and 48x digital zoom, advanced optical SteadyShot picture stabilization and up to seven hours1 of operation with the optional NP-F960 InfoLithium battery. | |

) I'm very pleased with this purchase. I like the Sony quality of cameras. Very Sturdy, and reliable. I bought this camera complete with everything. I previously owned a VX2000 and loved it. This one is a slight upgrade. The only drawback is that it has a previous resolution of 640p and all the latest cameras are on 1080p. I'm hoping they do not discontinue the Mini-DV tapes anytime soon. Other than that this camera is great to use with lots of features and manual tricks.
I mainly use it to film surfing, and commercials. I did a wedding on it already and it turned out great. It has good low light capabilities with a variable exposure control or iris.

) Bought for the accessories mostly to use with my Sony VX2000 (older ebay purchase) and to have a back-up camera, all so far has worked out great and I'm very happpy with the purchase.

One of the very best camcorders I ever used . Especially good in low light situations , better the most of HD cameras . Easy to use and handle , just amazing camcorder . I sold both

The Sony 2100 is a very good camera I will recomend it. I love the way it works because I have been using it since 2000 and I have had no problem. It is very good in adjusting when there is light and when there is none.

The Sony VX2100 is a really nice camcorder. Works well in low light. Easy to use. Purchased it used but works like a champ. Works well with Microsoft Vista. Video transfer and editing a snap..
