Sony Handycam HDR-XR520V 240 GB Camcorder - Black

The results of this Handycam are outstanding. I have been using movie cameras for about twenty years, mostly Panasonic and Sony. This one so far has been the best when it comes to picture sharpness (Truly High Definition) and sound (Crisp clear sound). I decided to buy this XR520V because of its reviews, its features, the "SONY" name, and the humongous storage it has (500GB Hard Drive).

It even automatically enhances the light when you zoom in from a lighted area to a dark area.

I had real fun playing back the fireworks recorded on July 4th. The results were as equal as the physical presence itself.

Going through the e-bay deal made me really happy as I got a very good deal, saved money, and got my delivery on time.

This camera is so easy to use, we never even had to open the instruction book. I love the option of the power going on/off whenever you open the viewfinder. It has a huge storage capacity and the hard disk drive is a must on vacation. We took this camera to Greece for 6 weeks and we barely scraped the surface of the storage capacity. Recharging was a breeze as well. The charger can be used with a simple converter for charging in Europe. I can not say enough great things about this camera. It even takes super still shots at an amazing 12.1 MPixels. Worth the price.

Still learning, but this is a GREAT camera. Very good quality, and the price was right. A newer model comes out in the fall of '09 so expect the price to drop even further.

I just go this camera and already can tell that it is way beyond the quality of my Sony mini-dvd handycam. The HD looks great, size is great, and with a 250 HD I have tons of room for video. The only downside I see is the microphone. I used it on a very windy day and that was all it picked up. I attend to get one of the Sony boom mic's for it and then I will be set. The camera also came with a Sony wide coversion lens which I am also very pleased with. It does not bend the video at all and gains you approximately 10% more veiwing area.
Anothe plus is the manual focus. You can just push it in to activate it and it has a easy to turn dial. At first Ii didnt think I would like the fact that it automatically turns on when you open the screen or viewfinder but already, I can tell that I will be pleased with that feature. If you want to, you can still manually turn on/off the camera while the screen is open.

I bought a sony hdr-xr520v camcorder. This is the best camcorder I have ever owned. The 240gb hard drive and pro duo reader is all the space you could need for whatever you plan to film. The HD recording is awesome and the 12 megapixel camera is one of the best around. You also get slow motion, night shot, and gps. It is a little high on price but you get a lot of tech and space for your buck.
