Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition (DVD, 2006, 14-Disc Set)

If you are a Superman fan, this collection is for you. I have purchased some of the movies seperately, and also the Fleischer cartoons from the 40's. This set has pretty much everything involving Superman over the years (except for the TV series, those are sold seperately, of course). The set does include the original George Reeves movie that the Adventures of Superman tv show of the 50's was based upon. It has all of the movies including the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2 (a much better product than the original theatrical release).
I think the set would have been more complete with the inclusion of the movie serials with Kirk Alyn and maybe the pilot episode of Lois and Clark. Other than that, the only other complaint of the included material is that if you lose the including guide, you can't tell by the DVD which one contains what extra materials (i.e. cartoons, specials, making of, etc.)
Overall, what is included, is worth the price.

The Collectors Edition has all the movies at a cheaper price than if you bought them all seprately and the added bonus of the director's cut and other special feature DVDs. The booklet is interesting and there's a couple other goodies in there as well. The tin the 14 DVDs are in is attractive and compact unlike most Season DVDs for TV shows and such that have the separate cases for each couple of DVDs in one cardboard case. Any Superman fan will enjoy this, even if they don't like all the Superman movies.

An awesome collection of all the Superman movies in their newest release format. The extras are outstanding and the Richard Donner version of Superman II is like a entirely different movie. I highly recommend this set to any Superman fan.

It is after all the Ultimate Collector's Edition. There are 14 DVDs. The steel-like tin makes the product a lot more attractive - you can display this anywhere in the house you want to. Apart from all the Superman films and the bonus footage and director's cuts, there are also some of the old 1940s Superman cartoons. The tin also includes a Superman comic book and also a miniature Daily Planet edition. Like I said, it's the Ultimate Collector's Edition. Collect it.

This is a great box set. It gives you all of the Superman movies. It also gives you the never before seen Superman II, Richard Donner Cut, a completely different version of the movie. It gives you the original pilot movie for the 50's series, Superman and the Mole Men. It also gives you the complete Max Fleischer cartoons, and tons of bonus material. This is a must have for any Superman fan.
