Great Looking Clubs, Suprisingly Playable For Most

Created: 06/01/11
When I first received these irons, I was afraid I had bitten off more than I could chew. Titleist has always been known as a better players club, and forged muscle backs are the hardest to hit. I'm about an 8 handicap, and I was trading up from a set of Titleist AP1's.

My first attempt at hitting them on the range was a mixed bag. When I hit them on the screws, they were great, with a little draw. But when I hit them off the center, look out! When I played them in my first round, they performed pretty well. I was about a half a club shorter on most of my shots, but I think that came from the fact that I was afraid to really go after them, for fear I might not make solid contact.

Since then, I've played 3 rounds, and they are getting progressively better. I feel I can work the ball better than I could the AP1's, especially when I need to draw the ball (which is what I like to try to do the most). I also like the fact that, since the 3 through 6 irons in the set I purchased are cavity back, I have a little bit more forgiveness in those harder to hit clubs. I had no problem getting the long irons up in the air. In fact, if anything, I hit them a little too high (may be more of a swing flaw than a design flaw).

The look of the clubs are what really catches your eyes. The chrome finish, and the classic look have you feeling like you are a real golfer. I receive a lot of compliments. The problem is, as soon as someone sees you with these clubs, they assume you are a player. That adds a little more pressure to perform, but hey, that's golf!

All in all, I would say that I'm very happy with my purchase, and look forward to playing these for many years to come.

Great Iron Set!

Created: 04/08/10
I'll keep this short. After receiving my Titleist 710 MB not long ago and I've put 4 rounds with them under my belt. I must say that this is one of the better of all the recent Titleist blade offerings that I've owned, ZM, ZB, 695.mb 660, 670 and 690.mb's in the recent past. In my opinion, I will say that this new 710 MB's blows them away.

I did notice with these 2010 conforming grooves that I need to learn how to adjust to those fliers that really goes further that I had expected.

The feel might not suit to those "buttery soft" crowd but I like this kind of firm and clicky feel because it does tell me where I hit the ball on the clubface. Good hits will let me know, mishits will let me know that I didn't hit it well. This is that kind of feel that I'm looking out from my irons.

I'll tell this to whomever has this set on order that it'll be worth the wait when it's finally released to the golfing public.

WOW!!!

These are outstanding irons! They are by far the best blade irons on the market. These are not for the faint of heart and inconsistent ball striker. Beautiful topline and classic design. Beware of fakes clubs being sold on ebay! These are easy to replicate. Beware of sellers in China.
