"eBay!" - Optimus Prime
Created: 26/01/11
The first time I saw "Transformers" in a movie theater, it kind of difficult grasp the evolving changes the characters have gone through since their popularity began over 25 years ago. Yes this, ROTF and soon DOTM sequel bring back childhood memories for me and fellow Transformers fans alike. You have to put aside your childhood days and watch this numerous times to understand more of why Michael Bay wanted the Transformers in our world. Just hearing Prime mention, "eBay!" to Sam's question, made me laugh my socks off as well as the Autobots stumbling in the kid's front & back yard was even funnier.
Most video/media stores I've checked have blu ray copies of "Transformers" for over $25 to $30+ . I'm thankful I got a great deal from an "eBay!" auction under $17.00. Car chases, big explosions, U.S. military firepower, and one of the best urban battle scenes w/ battling giant robots. Truly, more than meets the eye.

Awarding a film like Transformers a score of 4/5 for the movie might seem like a risky move. Keep in mind the score is not an absolute, meaning that it is not necessarily as good as every other movie from every other genre that has ever received a 4/5. For what Transformers wants to be -- an exciting, action-packed special effects extravaganza -- it's fantastic. It'll never be classic cinema, but like Independence Day, it's a terrific popcorn movie that shows us things we've never seen before on a scale and with a technical perfection that is second-to-none. Transformers features plenty of exciting action sequences, first-class special effects, and a story and cast of characters that are good enough to move the film along and allow us to revel in the wonder of the Transformers without the distraction of a completely ridiculous plot. For awesome action and visuals, you cannot do better than Transformers. Paramount has released one of the finest Blu-ray discs available to date, rivaling the likes of I, Robot and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in terms of overall quality. With breathtaking video, heart-stopping audio, and a wealth of bonus material, the disc never disappoints. For all the title represents -- great picture, wonderful sound, a plethora of supplements, and its status as one of the most desired Blu-ray discs of all time, not to mention its embodiment of the end of the high definition disc format war -- Transformers receives my highest recommendation.

This particular movie has alot of sentimental value for me. I grew up in the '80s watching cartoons such as, Transformers, Thundercats, He Man, etc. and I would probably like it even if it wasn't the CGI(Computer Generated Image) masterpiece that it is. Alot of people find Movies with story lines like these cheesy and cliche, I however believe that it was these story lines which helped the kids of my generation understand the difference between good and evil... I know that sounds pretty deep, especially about a cartoon that was made into a feature film, but if you think about it for a second it does make sense. The classic depiction of good and evil was so simplistic that young children could digest it, yet captivating enough that we hold great feelings of nostalgia for these films. I can't tell you how many times I had "Goose-bumps" during the film, but it was transending to hear the voice of Peter Cullen(Optimus Prime)as he vividly describes humanity as a species with purpose. I have completely enjoyed watching the cartoon and comic book characters of my youth come to life on the silver screen in recent years, and I look forward to whatever comes next. Enjoy!

the special effects bought to life in this movie are remarkable. The Automobiles transform into robots that are here on earth to save our planet from other transformers that want to rtake earth for themselves. Megan Fox is as cute as can be, and shia is outstanding. There is plenty of action to keep you wanting more. I enjoyed it so much, I bought it to watch again and again.

The fight scenes were great, but, just like the sequel, there's too many side stories with the people (and too many innuendos)....just look at the old 80's show: people like it better...why? cause they don't worry too much about the main human characters. The plot line is always about the autobots finding the new decepticon weapon or to stop the decepticons from destroying something. In Michael Bay's film, he made half the film about Sam and him struggling to keep up with life. But I loved the autobots in this movie, so I rated it better than I should :)
