GOOD, BUT VERY LABOR INTENSIVE
Created: 22/08/06
I own this one for many years since my teens and have used it primarily as a point of reference when brides have trouble describing their vision of the dream wedding cake. the cakes decorated take time because of the extra care needed in providing the smoothest buttercream layer possible-steady hands here girls! then the decorations are mostly done out of royal icing which requires extra days in preparation time. cakes pictured are very ornate with intricate and lacy, scroll work and many swags too. i love the idea building aspect of it...what possibilities! but,on a realistic point these cakes where ment for a time (1971) when time was not so precious and time is money now more than ever. the cost to make any of these cakes now would have to rise ten times fold. i recommend this book for the ideas it can provide...that is undisputable!!!

The book was in great shape, especially for the age. Binding was still in great shape and the pages in great shape
