I purchased this tablet after having a blackberry playbook but needed a device with more flexability. Don't get me wrong the playbook is an awesome device but it's strictly blackberry, something I personally can't use to create programs or run my type of business. Back to my review of the Acer W500, it is a great little table and by little I mean that it's compact but not by weight. This is one of the reasons why I gave it 4 stars. This tablet isn't as heavy as a laptop or even some netbooks, but after holding this up with one hand for some time it feels like your holding a bowling ball. You have to find some comfortable way of holding it or supporting your hand with something so it doesn't bother you too much. The keyboard is a great bonus and like I read in some reviews, it does at times take a moment to recognize it, but that's the same with just about any usb device that is plugged into a computer. Also some reviews mention that you have to have it on a flat surface or it will topple over, this is true but what I do is incline my legs or recline in my recliner with my legs up and that does the trick. Other than these issues, this tablet is great. It runs smooth and the touchscreen is responsive and has plenty of touch points. I can at least get 4 points to show up in paint but when I use 5 fingers it brings up the acer software, so there is at least 5 points which is three more than a lot of other tablets out there. The processor is dual core and it comes with 2 gigs of ram, what more can you ask for. I have a feeling that I will be using this tablet alot and work less on my 9 lb. 17" laptop.

This tablet have everything you need to work on the way. This baby can handle most of the daily use programs. This tablet has become my main pc, although is not perfect, but for the price is very fair.
Cons: Crappy Camera Resolution and no usb on sides
Pros: Smooth hd playback, low heat, no fan noise, superb sound system, good battery life, fast and accurate responsive touch screen & almost all stuff of this tablet is awesome.

I purchased this tablet after trying the Blackberry Playbook and the A500 (android) tablet. I needed a full function tablet due to my academic needs. This tablet fit the bill. I will say it is an awesome tablet, but I would just like to mention the few cons I've noticed.
1. Windows 7 is a poor OS...but it I can't get around it. (I've tried the beta version of windows 8 and when that is released it is goingt to kick much butt)
2. IE is laggy. The hardware specs on this tablet are just too light for a hoggy OS like windows 7. I tried Fedora 16 on it and the tablet actually runs BETTER with Fedora 16 than Windows.
3. It does get heavy after a while.
In conclusion, Acer did a great job, but they could have done better. 3 gigs DDR3 should have been the min and the CPU is underpowered for Windows. Yet, I still love this tablet. I'm really looking forward to installing windows 8 on it. For now, I switch between Windows 7 and Fedora 16 depending upon what I need to do and that works well for me. You can run Fedora from the SD card so you don't have to worry about messing with your windows partition.

The Tablet works great. I put windows 8 on it and everything went smooth. I am having a little problem with crudy audio but i assume it is just a driver issue. Running on Win7 I had about 3-5 hours of battery. Changing to Win8 it seems to last all day if not more. standby seems to be a few days.

Great tablet for those requiring a Windows OS. No problems with compatability with a touch screen and there's an attachable keyboard also. I can run Microsoft Office Pro without a hitch. Probably tnot the tablet for gamers and app folks, but a great business tablet.
