A Basic Dad's Review

Created: 07/03/11
I won't go into great detail here, but will state that The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland was not a title that I knew about until searching for Elmo and Sesame Street related video's online. I suggest sites like Amazon.com and FYE to gain categorical information about all things home media. My little one(age 2) has lately been fixated by one character, Elmo. She does enjoy this film, the first full length Elmo movie made. She dances and mimics her favorite parts. It has little adult appeal, except for an appearance by Vanessa Williams, but the music is certainly bearable and you may find yourself humming along after awhile. Mainly, Elmo goes on a trek and learns to overcome his selfishness and grouchiness. That would be the moral that I see in this movie. Overall it was worth my purchase.

Great movie

Elmo loves his fuzzy, well-worn blue blanket better than anything in the whole world. In fact, they are inseparable... a perfect team. Elmo would never let anything happen to it-until a tug-of-war with his friend Zoe sends his beloved blanket into a faraway land and Elmo is in hot pursuit.

Facing life without his cherished blanket, Elmo summons all of his courage and determination and sets off on an action-packed rescue mission that plunges him into Grouchland-a place full of grouchy creatures, stinky garbage and the villainous Huxley. There, Elmo learns an important lesson about sharing.

Son loves Elmo

I decided to buy this DVD out of necessity. Years ago when my daughters were little we this the VHS. 6-7 years later my two year old son loves it, but the VHS has had it. So I searched hi and lo for a new one unsuccessful until I found it on ebay. I love that fact that hard to find items are easy on ebay. There were plenty of choices too. Thank ebay.

Very entertaining for kids and adults! Highly recommend! However, is it's a bit long for very young children. More suitable for older toddlers with longer attention spans....3+ years old. My only complaint is that Vanessa Williams character makes Elmo do raspberries with his tongue and my kids started to imitate him after seeing the video. Other than that, I thought it was great! One of the best Sesame Street video we have in our collection.

In our house ELMO can do no wrong. SO, for us, this is an excellent movie. Not only do you get to see Elmo you get to see all of the different Sesame Street Characters and, naturally, it is a good clean movie for a family to see without worry of "what will they do".
GREAT GREAT GREAT FAMILY MOVIE!
